I am making plans to donate.
I am thanking lady luck right now that I decided NOT to go to the city today. I was going to be right near the WTC not knowing what would have happened. good thing I had to much home work and cancelled the trip.
I almost became sick as I wached the second plane crash into the WTC. then wach both towers, which I have been to many times, tople over.
my condolences and prayers go out to the families that lost loved ones in all of these tragic events. it is A sad day for new york, D.C. and the rest of the country. lets hope this is the end of the violence.

Canadians in Southern Ontario are being asked for blood as well. I know that there are a few of us on these boards. I cannot give, I gave blood last week.

For years I was afraid to give blood, and I finally got over it and started doing it this year. I just gave last month so I can't give again this soon, I don't think--but to anybody that can, please please please get over your fear of needles and lend a pint. Blood can and will be transported from wherever you are to NYC where it's most needed. Please call the Red Cross at the number Bobak posted and arrange an appointment, if you're at all able!

In order to give blood, you must be at least 17 years of age. You also MUST weigh at least 110Lbs.

This information is from my mother, who has worked for the redcross for over 20 years.

I called my doctor and found out that I can't give blood... I have a minor form of a cousin of Anemia (does nothing to me)....

But I can't because of it.

I'm pissed, but I don't want to harm anyone... My best friend can't either... Simply because he's gay... how FUCKED up is that?

So great to see international help! In Arizona, they had to turn people away because there wasn't enough help to gather blood! That's sorta good and bad !

The good side is that the help is overwhelming and people are helping Globally!

The bad side is that people need blood!

That is fucked up. I'm sure it stems from the belief that gays are more likely to have AIDS than straight people.

My girl and I both donated today. It's the first time I have donated in about 2 years. Last time I went to donate I was lifting weights very heavily and certain chemicals were too high in my blood as a result (no, not steriods or any "supplement"). Since I got up to the weight I want, my blood was fine today, but because my body is very active and needs all of the nutrient/oxygen transport it can get (I'm 6'1" 218-225 5% bodyfat and I have to eat 5000 calories per day) I've been quite woozy since. Oh well, they need my type (O) the most ... same for my girl. We did what we could and I urge all of you, no matter where you live, to go and donate. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
