It is cool to see that the KoF series still has enough behind it to make it into the mainstream counsel market.

Well all I see is a sentance about KOF 2K coming out for DC on a HK gaming site, it would help to have a little proof.

If it's true then hell yes, another DC game for me to pre order, but we'll have to see if any other sites announce it, until I hear NCS or someone announce the game, I'll wait and see.

i'd rather have a KOF collection with 94-97 with the option of AST and OST soundtracks ingame

Whack on a 7800yen price tag and we have a winner.

i am gonna fucking go on record and say that if this is official- KOF 2000- the DC is my fav. system of all time.
all the best capcom fighters- most of them done perfectly-
and now the best of SNK'S recent (i'm using that term loosely) fighters- LB2, GAROU, KOF evolution- the DC is the shit, especially if you don't have the cash to pay 300$+ for one game.
long live the spirit of the DC!!!

Well it IS good news, but it's just gonna be another slightly inferior DC port that people will disregard because it's not in high-res like GGX.

Every reviewer is gonna say how inferior, and 'old-school' it is. They'll probably write: Well, if you're looking for cutting edge graphics, look elsewhere. But if you can look past the lack of visual flair and are looking for solid gameplay, then KOF2000 just MIGHT be your cup of tea..." "6/10"

Sorry, but KOF2000 deserves better.

Right on Bro, sad to say. News like this is such a blessing and a curse. People who can't swing the high price of the Neo home cart will finally get the chance to play the fire out of this beauty of a game, but at the same time it's gonna be painful watching this work of art of a game get exiled to the bargain bins at the major game stores because there's too many knuckle-heads with this whole "if it ain't in polygons or if it's not Capcom 2D it's not worth my time" mentality. Hell look at the KOF released for the Dreamcast already-$20 or less. Pitiful.

And like you pointed out, the real kicker is gonna be seeing these "educated" snicker editors in the mags talking about how "old school" and "dated" it is. Fools...

Well, I've already got my home cart, but I love it so much that I want everyone to be able to have this great game. If it's true this is great news!

netbattle. that's all I ask for. If it oculd be done on the black and gold, I'd probably self-destruct.

And once in a while I talk to the guys behind the counter at EB and babbages, and they all agree that 2D fighters aren't selling (capcom included).

Well even if there was net battle in the japanese release, it'd be useless here. And no fighter on the dreamcast has had netbattle in the usa, that had it in japan.

And theres no way in hell agetec's gonna setup a gaming server for a game that will probly retail for 29 bucks.

Net vs fighters look to be a PS2, Xbox thing so far, since the US version of Capcom vs SNK 2 on PS2 is supposed to be net playable.

But then again capcom said every dreamcast game after power stone 2 they released would have netplay too, but gee no capcom game on the DC has netplay.

Oline battle in a 2-D fighter would have to be done in a flawless connection. If there is ANY lag, that would kill a match.

2-D fighters require extreme presition and timing and lag would destroy that. So unless somebody comes out with lag free online gameing, I don't see 2-D fighters online in the US possible.

In Japan, doesn't Capcom have a special dial up service just for its games?

Black and Gold? Do you mean the Neo-Geo system? O_O That would absolutely rock--I remember the XBand for SNES/Genesis had something like that--you could play Weaponlord (one of the best Western-developed fighting games out there) on it.

That's because the magazines are biased against 2D and they have people saying "I DONT WAN'T 2D GAEMGING BEACUSE 3D IS R0X0RZ ADN 2D SI SUX0RZ!!!!!!11111" Damn Sony. Damn them to hell.

Ah well. Live and learn (o/~ hanging on the edge of tomorrow... o/~)

Seriously, though, KOF2000 online would be great. But on another topic, what could they really do for KOF2000 on Dreamcast? Make Zero playable by default? Big fscking deal. Maybe if they had some of the Another Strikers as edit characters; imagine playing as the Ultimate Kim Team--Kap Hwan, Sue Il, Dong Hwan and Jae Hoon.

Also, they could probably slip Orochi in there, just for old times

Personally, I'd like a KOF'97 game for GBA, just to take the Final Battle against Orochi (until the inevitable return) wherever I go. Maybe KOFAdvance will fulfull some part of this dream...

KOF Advance looks to be sweet... Now bring over MOTW and I'll be all set.

Netplay would be cool but then again we don't live in japan.I hope to hear an official confirmation from SNK themselves.

if you wanted KoF 97 in a handheld, KoF R1 is it, although black and white. I loved R1.
