If KOF ages 94-95-96-97-98-99... shouldnt the characters age too? Mai should really be 29.

You must really have a lot of free time on your hands if you're looking up Mai's age and then figuring her age in each of the games she has been in. C'mon man... she's a vid game character! Do Bart and Lisa ever age on The Simpsons? Hell no! Do we still love it? Hell yeah!

That's something I really can't stand about SNK. It's as if their characters live in suspended animation or whatever the hell it is and simply never age. As another example, Takuma has gone from 48 back in 1994, to 50 in 2000. After all these years, Terry is still a whopping 24 years old, etc. People do get older!
