This is mostly directed towards Shawn:

Now that AES MS4 is knocking at our door (see coming soon elemnt on the starter page ;)

I would really like to make some suggestions about the English insert:

1. There should be the game`s logo on the spine again unlike "King of Fighters 2001" simply written in word format. Apart from KoF `01 I think the last US release that had this in a similar fashion was Galaxy Fight. Not beautiful. Logo`s much better.

2. Remove that foolish "NTSC only" Button on cover and spine.

3. And MOST important: The Meg count definitely has to come back on the spine and the cover!

Anyone with me here?

What about you Shawn? I simply assume here you`d like to have it a similar way :) Is it possible that Playmore/Brezza will listen?

Yes, among other things.

You can`t possibly argue that the US insert design of KoF `01 was well done, can you?

The design of the former carts simply was perfect - why not keep it that way? :)

yes ! I rarely prefer US but looks MOTW - it looks great in US form and it's one of my few US carts.

I'm just dissapointed with the last US kof... <img src="graemlins/ohno.gif" border="0" alt="[Oh No]" /> <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[Crying]" />

why to change something that worked very well ? (about the meg count who is missing even on a jap version)

OK ! it's new and real SNK is dead, and we must go forward, but I don't like changing like that.

for me, and many people here, insert design is important (for sure not more important than the game itself but anyway important) and please don't touch our sacred carts.

They should just use the old design and put there name where SNK used to be.That would be perfect.

You know. You're really under the sad impression that Shawn has any say on how the inserts will look.

if that were the case I'm sure he would have posted the actual U.S. insert weeks ago instead of having to wait for it as long as everyone else does.... <img src="graemlins/ohno.gif" border="0" alt="[Oh No]" />

Agreed totally KS, those are good suggestions. If Shawn has any input on this, I hope your points can be addressed!

Metal Slug 4 is not created by the same makers of KOF2K1 so It is pretty likely that MS4's insert design will be "different".

I agree that both the English & Japanese KoF ’01 inserts would have been better off by simply using the preexisting logo on the spine. Most of us probably consider the use of the bold English text to be unattractive. However, try looking at the design from an Eastern perspective. To them, the western text on the spine may be perceived as more appealing due to its foreign quality.

From reading the posts on the forums, many people prefer the Japanese home cartridges for their art. Let me elaborate. Some buyers prefer squiggles on the insert which they cannot decipher. Given that the foreign text cannot be considered comprehensible text, it is instead considered to be art.

The lack of the meg count was an unpleasant surprise. I suppose it would be understandable to leave the meg count display off of a low meg title such as Joy Joy Kid or Zupapa, but KoF ’01 has the largest meg count to date. More the reason to display the megs one would think.

If an English Metal Slug 4 home production is secured, the above issues will certainly be suggested to the artist. FYI, your posts on these very forums reach more than you may know. I won’t go into specifics of whom or how often, only assure you that your posts are well heard by people in the “industry”.

Thanks for the imput Shawn.

Since I am sure I do speak for the majority of US gamers/collectors considering my MS4 insert suggestions, I hope the right people will read this then and hopefully address some or all the issues during the design. :)

Here Here! I'm with Kyokugen on this one. Just thought I'd get my voice out so that those people in the "industry" know what we want.
