ENGLISH KOF 2001 INSERT REVEALED!

.........And it is one SORRY PIECE OF CRAP!

This is one of the biggest dissapointments this year period! that is an absolute ABOMINATION to the neo geo name. I would like to get my hands on the people who designed this piece of paper that is not even fit for me to wipe my ass with.
GET THE JAP VERSION! (and i'm an english collector!)

I think it falls in line with what other English inserts have offered in the past; modified for the worse version of the JPN insert.

Seriously, I had no doubt in my mind it was going to look bad.

People should expect this.

I'm still baffled at the lack of Meg count.

Hey, y'know what? It wasn't from SNK proper, so I don't mind that it looks different. I am not saying that I love the look of it, because I don't really, but, I don't hate it either. It's just different.

I would have prefered the meg count and game logo on the spine too, but this is how it looks and that's the way it is.

I'm sure if you want the old style look and feel that there may be someone out there will to sell you a "corrected" insert before long.

Just accept this, and hopefully future releases, for what it is; A home cart from a new company that still has the guts to invest and support a release for a market that by all rights should be long dead by now.

Think of it this way. KoF 2000 is Japanese anyway. Let it serve as a transition to the new English/Japanese style of 2k1 on your shelf and be happy with the fact that you just bought a game for a 12 year old system that rocks.

It's different. It's not what I have seen before. It's welcome. And besides, I get a really cool game out of the deal. Stop whining. <img src="graemlins/shame.gif" border="0" alt="[Shame]" />

I think I get your point though. But I have a feeling my Turf corrected inserts will be more valuable then the NGF ones. Besides, it has Karnov on the side, cant go wrong there.

Neo Turf Masta' may have hit on something here. NTM, your inserts will be even more rare than the NGF ones. For those of you that want the old look and feel, NTM is the way to go!!!

Oh, and by the way, for those of you that have classically liked Japanese carts mreo because the art is better, it seems as if the English cart should get the nod with this release.

While the cover image is a little bit smaller, due to the black at the bottom, the back side of the English insert seems much better in my mind. The art is not blocked by the info box at the bottom and it also has a more integrated look in that Angel, etc. are not boxed as they are in the Jp insert. It's just one large image on the back. Much nicer. <img src="graemlins/glee.gif" border="0" alt="[Glee]" />

Dude, what the hell is wrong with you people? That looks almost exactly the same as the Japanese insert.... The only difference I can see is that there is no longer a big fuckin profile of K' and K9999 on the back, and Angel, Kula and Foxy have been placed around him... There is absolutely nothing on it that would make it an "abomination." I guess the NTSC thing isn't that great, but I'd rather see that than a big fuckin "SUN" logo, pretending they're an actual company or something...

Plus, that's not even a scan of an actual insert, at least it doesn't look like one to me... If it was a scan of the actual insert in the case like Adol took, it would look fine...

Oh well, I'm a Japanese collector but that insert seems quite good if compared with the US insert standard.

Is more similar to JPN one that many more titles, and the spine is almost as good.

Good news for US collector IMHO.

Let's see... the spine is white instead of black, no meg count, and there's a weird NTSC warning message. Seems fine to me, the first is a matter of taste and the second is just a break with tradition, not necessarily bad.

As for the third, what, did some Playmore exec have visions of millions of angry Europeans filing lawsuits? :rolleyes:

The only thing I actually don't like about the insert is the cover art, and it's the same as the Japanese one. K' is a poser, I can think of 50% of the characters in the game that would look better on the cover.

So Shawn make a note if the insert in English is not exactly like the others, don't produce the homecart. Because the gameplay is dramatically effected by the insert design........SUN, Brezza, or whoever.....just remember people don't buy the game to play it, they buy it too look at how nice it matches all the other games on their shelf..........so next time get it right......Awesome insert, manual, and cart sticker. why is there a brezzasoft logo on the us insert and not on the jap insert?
why isn't there a playmore logo on the us version and one on the jap insert?
I know "sun amusement" only publishes the "SNK" game in japan and not in the us so I know why there isn't the sun logo on the us version.... but according to playmore I don't anderstand!
According to brezza.... maybe they publishe the games on the us?

hey guys, just to clear things up. I am MORE than happy that we have another game for the neo home cart system. but that does not mean that i can not critique the shit job that they did on the design of the art work.
and yes i play these games (my system is coming in the mail this week

)

the biggest thing that fuffles my nuts is the lack of the meg count boxes,the departure of the standard logo on the spine (in return we get that asian inspered mess. actually I dont like the spine altogether) and that ABSOLUTELY STUPID NTSC only box on the front.

honestly, i did not mean to down play the english rev. for all who have pre ordered it or who plan on purchasing it I think you should stick with the U.S. rev (cause I know alot of us here like the english manuels)

Finaly, on the topic of some one (possibly)offering A corrected insert in the future, I will tell you this. I have had A picture perfect vision of what the insert should have looked like for this game (U.S. version that is) and I will make sure that I create it in the highest possible quality to add to my collection. I have never had an urge so strong to do some thing like this but the abomination that is the KOF 2001 insert has pushed me over the edge. This will primarily be for my interests and my collection but I will also be glad to have high quality copies made for forum members for no additional cost. take care.
