I've been noticing alot of love around here for Capcom lately...

It also seems many of us REALLY, REALLY like the Capcom Vs. SNK series as well...

Well, let us lay our cards on the table, shall we? Who's fighters are better?

SNK or Capcom?

I would really like to see everyones responses to this.

Thanks,
neobuyer

Well, IMHO, No fighter will ever be perfect. That said, Both Capcom AND SNK fighters reign supreme. Each have their innovations, characters, options, replay value and good old fighting technique. Both will forever be the kings of 2D fighting games.... 'nuff said.

Uhhhh MK and Tekken both suck compared to any Capcom and SNK fighter <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> I like the SNK characters most, but then again there are some cool Capcom fighters.

Whatcha crazy!! No one played Time Killers here? Can't think of the company but it reigns supreme. Ha, Ha just kidding...SNK totally puts more overall depth in key areas as Capcom looks to put more depth in graphics. Great games from both companies, they shoulda merged altogether.

Many of the SNK staff have worked for Capcom, and vice-versa... the two companies are like brothers.

You should rename the topic to "Capcom Fighters are awesome, do does SNK"

You guys don't know shit, Pit Fighter and Rise of the Robots are the greatest fighters ever, DOA2 is right up there as well representing the pinnacle of 3-D fighters

You all are forgetting the unbelievably speedy One Must Fall 2097 and its predecessor One Must Fall.
EPIC smashes up Capcom!! (joke)

And does anyone recall Sango Fighter?? Now that was a good PC fighting game. AND what about FX Fighter. I never did get to play that for more than 5 mins on my old 486 sx.... it crashed on the "Fight" announcement!!!!!!

They both make great fighting games although I do hate the way capcom keep bringing out streetfighter 3.....

*Streetfighter 3
*Streetfighter 3 Double Impact
*Streetfighter 3 Third Strike

Yawn..

Capcom had a great thing going w/ SF 2 then they screwed that up. They screwed up SF3 b/c it didn't match up to SF2. Now I hear there is another SF Zero 3 in the works. All of this makes me sick. Capcom is milking the franchise and people are getting sick of it. In days of SF2 Samurai Shodown showed me the light. SNK proved they can do a sequel and have it be worth playing.

Both franchises are equally dominant in my opinion.... it all depends on my fighting game mood....

While I tink Capcome makes quality fighters, I have always enjoyed SNK's the most. Much more style, innovation, and wonderful characters. Not to mention some of the best art, music, and atmosphere you can get!

I'm sorry guys, but bump Capcom and SNK ... and all of those other fighters mentioned. ETERNAL CHAMPIONS is da ish! Hahaha! Man I can't believe EGM ever gave that game the cover for their holiday issue!

On the real, as about everyone else has said, both companies bring different things to the table. SF2 series will probably always be the best fighting game, everything else is basically an imitator of the game that accidentally defined the genre and all others will always try to offer an innovation to make itself more appealing than the original. I really think SNK shines in character development, as Capcom lost any logical character storylines with the Alpha and Vs. series. And a lot of the combatants in Capcom fighters tend to be strange, where most SNK combatants tend to be relatively normal peeps off of the street. There's so much to say, but the bottom line is that the two are so different, yet so much the same, that there is a place for both of them in any true 2D fan's heart.

You have no idea what you are talking about.
Pit fighter is alright but Rise of the Robots is shit.

Those two titles aren't the "greatest" fighters ever.

I FEEL, CAPCOM HAS SLACKED OFF ALOT LATELY........THE CAP VS SERIES ARE CRAPPY MUGEN GAMES, THE CHARS ARE SELDOM REDRAWN ANYMORE ETC.......

ONE ONLY NEEDS TO LOOK AT THE NEW CHARS VS OLD CHARS IN MVSC2 TO NOTICE THIS.......
CAPCOM HAS NO STORY LINE, AND HAS NEVER EXPERIMANTED.....

CAPCOM HAS TAKEN SO MANY OF SNKS BEST EXPERIMENTS FOR USE IN THERI GAMES, NEVER INVENTING ANYTHING NEW OR ORGINAL......

AND STILL SNKS CALLED A CLONE OF SF2, WHEN YET TODAY, THE SF SERIES HAS BORROWED BACK A HUNDRED FOLD FROM SNK, AND WILL CONTINUE TO, TILL THE NAIL THE LIDS ON EITHER ONES COFFIN........

SNK DIES, CAPCOM DIES.......
CAPCOM DIES......SNK WILL NOT!
