View Full Version : Delete post ability disabled

A couple of members have been deleting their own spam in an attempt to falsely blame the moderators of abusing their positions. As much as I appreciate the spammers deleting their own posts, I cannot allow this masquerade to go on. They leave me with little choice, members can no longer delete their own posts. This feature has been disabled. My sincere apologies go out to the mature members of the board.

This is quite disturbing to hear that some members going out of their way to frame our moderators. Stop this immature act. Stop accusing our mods. They are nice enough already to take time out from their daily busy life to be our mods. Be appreciative instead of being a pain in the ass.

I did not delete my stuff sware on my head.
If I get any alligations you can find a way to trace the deletion.
I dont need any so called "attention"
90% of the warroom is about me as is.
I got hacked and changed my password, shawn was not refering to me in this post.
Also after I got hacked, it was blamed on this so called "glitch".
I am very disspleased with all my hard work (complaining) getting deleted.
NO MODS ARE RESPONSIBLE!
Thats right, none of them! I have ICQ'd shawn on who it can be.
If anybody here, thinks the moderaters are responsible then they can contact me VIA ICQ and I can prove who did it.

This is just wrong. I never delete my posts, at the most I go back and edit things. Now, let's think about this... I'm offline all weekend, come back to see what kind of replies I got, and all of my posts are gone.

Who has the ability to delete posts? Well obviously the first people I'm going to blame would be the Warmods.

Now, LWK did come up with a good possibility of who might have deleted our posts, a member having hacked again... But I don't know. And I didn't come right out and accuse Caris of it because I can't prove someone did it.

I'm sure that there's been days that myself and LWK have pissed off just about every member on this board, and probably the mods too.

Shawn, I'm assuming you have something to refer back to as far as our activity on the boards (ie posting, editing, deleting). If you do, please take a look at my activity from this weekend. I wasn't even online one time, I was moving. Surely the IP address will be incorrect, and not compare favorably to the IP I actually use when I'm on the board.

Surely once you see the results of that, you'll consider giving the "mature members" of this board the ability to delete their own posts again.

Thanks.

Well at least I deleted one of my double posts before this happened

That was a nice feature though,so can I just ask the mods to delete my thread/post?

Who cares kyo? Since all you post is spam and bullshit anyway, no one cares about your whiny bullshit. Seriously, you just admitted it yourself: that you've probably pissed off nearly every member of the forums with your idiotic spam. NO ONE CARES, CAN'T YOU SEE THAT? Why don't you just take a break for about 3 years, come back when you reach age 15. That should be about enough time to get your pre-teen dumbass crap over with . . .

Uhh, Shawn could you just lock that ability for those people who abused this future of the boards ? I liked it when we actually could delete our posts. Only used it twice I think trough, but very helpfull.

Very helpful, as usual. You really can't make the call, so I'm not going to bother too much with dealing with you.

Blaming the moderators is stupid...I'm sure Shawn knows exactly what is going on. After all, all our actions are probably recorded and all you have to do is check the logs to see what IP address did what... There really isn't any point in blaming the moderators.

That's what I'm trying to point out.

You see, the deleted posts were either removed by a mod (some of my posts could have been removed with good reason), deleted by Shawn himself (it's his site, he'd probably tell us), or deleted by someone that hacked into our accounts (which sounds utterly ridiculous).

The thing is... I really wasn't online at all this weekend to wipe my stuff out, and if there REALLY is a record of our activity, it will show that it wasn't me.

If for no other boards, would it be possible to enable it for the wanted/selling boards?

In my mind, those are the boards that need to be pruned with regularity as it is impossibly complicated to see what is still for sale when sellers can't clear their posts.

I didn't delete my own posts, someone else deleted them, I contacted Shawn by ICQ today to tell him. I never meant moderators (including Shawn)deleted them. I don't know who did it. Anyway, well done to have disabled this function. Reposting with corrections or double postss have never killed anybody and this is not as annoying as deleted posts...

Now that I think about it... Bravo. Now if a post is deleted, we know it was the Warmods.
