Well thats what you'll see if you go to www.ravengames.co.uk and read the 'latest news' section.
Then if you go into the SNK/NeoGeo section you'll see that they have Ganryu / Shock troopers / Prehistoric isle 2 listed as being USA titles 'coming soon'

I really hope these are not NGF carts. If they are not then we can all rejoice.

I think I'll E-mail them for more info.

I've just sent an E-mail off to Ravengames asking for more info. Mind you - they thought Strikers was an Official SNK cart so I dunno if they will be accurate.

Anyone else get this?

"Hi, just to let those of you know (who don't know) 'STRIKERS 1945 plus' (a vertical shot em up) is in stock now on the NEO GEO home cartridge, this an official New SNK Neo Geo release and only 50 COPIES have been produced world wide , each individually numbered.
If you check our Web site www.ravengames.co.uk our New Geo page now has our complete stock list and details of new games coming this year (2 more new titles due !!!)

Thanks and sorry to have bothered you....
Raven Games London."

Official? Either someone been scammed or there is a mad ass misunderstanding....

I wish Shock Troopers and Ganryu would come to AES< but it looks doubtful, other than NGF trying to scam them.

Wasn't it fairly well publicized that Strikers was an !Arcade! release, and not an official SNK release? I would've thought Raven would've picked up on that. All they had to do was troll these boards a while back.

Those will obviously be new !Arcade! releases, since NGF has lost all credibility when it comes to "official" releases, after their fake KOF2K debacle. I actually sort of feel sorry for anyone who bought that fake cart, although most should have known better.

I'd love to have a Shock 1 home cart, but at $400 a pop the demand for these things will be limited at best . . . <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0">

This brings a simple sentence to mind.

If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

Well there not NGF releases I know that for a fact. More then likely !Arcade! is Making them. As far as being official they are not that either. I think that paticular dealer though is selling them as such with the knowledge they are conversions. After all he bought the strikers from Shawn Knowing they were a conversion as well.

Funny NGF would push thier carts as official and no Dealer will deal with them and call them fake. !Arcade! will tell dealers thier carts are conversion and the dealer well sale them as official anyway.

Actually you know I was just looking at the site and it does not say official SNK cart Just New USA title. They also do not list Strikers as a official SNK cart anymore either. Just a FYI

OK - heres Ravengames reply to my e-mail as to where the carts came from. Its not really that helpfull mind....

They are not in stock yet (but are being manufactured for future release) ,
i do not know who is manufacturing them as i am not the buyer of this
company , but they are 100% original releases.
Thank you.

Like I said - pretty unhelpfull.
Also they have changed the description of Strikers 1945 to that of:

Strikers 1945 plus (USA New) * New third party release, ltd edition of 50 copies £374.99

Which is a little more accurate.

Ganryu / Shock troopers / Prehistoric isle 2
entry from the NeoGeo page. No idea why but they didnt say they had cancelled them.
(mabye they dont want to commit themselfs too much)

Ask Prozerg. He won the lottery on that one. As for Kanji.....I think that he was leaving after doing the lottery. So we probably won't see a post from him anymore.

I'd love to see all of these games released on home cart. Original SNK releases would be preferred, but I wouldn't want them [SNK] to try and take on too much just yet.

Hopefully the MS3 will make them enough money that they dcide to offer a few other games for re-release (like MotW) that would sure sales. After that, they could possibly try bringing out low runs of great games never released on home cart like Super Dodge Ball, Shock Troopers, Ganryu, or Nightmare in the Dark.

It will be great to see SNK getting back to developing new games once they get their finances straightened out.

- Kyle

Also, I wouldn't mind seeing these games brought to homecart by !ARCADE! if SNK decides not to do it.

OK, quick update for anyone who cares.

I phoned ravengames to buy some stuff (Last Blade and CvS2) and asked the guy on the phone about Prehistoric isle 2 and so on.
He said that they had decided to cancel the order from the manufacturer (apparently !arcade!, because the carts were gonna be real budget jobs. No cart sticker, no manual or box insert.
So it was too close to piracy for them to be stocked.

Ho hum - I guess it would have been nice to be able to play them, but they would have looked pants in anyones collection.

Raven Games is literally 5 minutes from me.

I'll go in a have a chat about these 'official' titles soon.

Doubt I can make this week, too busy at work. Probably next Saturday.

The minute I got their mass email for the strikers release that said it was an "official" SNK cart I quickly wrote them back and told them to change it, or I would personally make sure everyone knew that they were intentionally falsely marketing a product. We had a pretty heated debate about it over a couple emails, whoever it was told me that he was "completely unaware" of any kind of neogeo piracy or unauthentic carts, and that maybe I was just making it up.

But I thought at the end he saw things my way, and I happily noticed that the webpage had changed its strikers listing after that. I wish they had sent out another mass email with their correction, but I guess that would be too much.
