Ok
Well I got back earlier this afternoon but just now decided to sit down and go over the events that took place this weekend. Although turn out of people who communited on this Forum was poor we did meet some interesting people who joined in so it was not a total loss.
I arrived at the Hotel late Friday Evening around midnight. pretty much I checked in and went straight to my room. I unpacked and look at the tv to see how the Neo was going to hook in. To my horror I discovered the tv had cables with plastic guards on it I could not removed. From the TV to the wall jack. I fiddle with it a bit and then gave up deciding I would look at it agian tomorrow and went to bed.
Saturday I woke up around 7am. I went downstairs to check out the Con. The had 3 video rooms going but No HK movie rooms this year. at around 9:30am they open up the badge booth so I got my badge and went into the dealers room.
Neo stuff there. Not a whole lot, there were several of the SNK vs capcom key chains which I picked a set up of. a couple of art books (snk vol 1 and KOF) I already owned these once before and they wanted to much for them. 1 Epoch Mia resin complete for $125, to high I though. Several kits of mia and the Warrior rage girls $60 a piece. A vennessa resin completed for $90 and a Card fighters clash music cd (I picked this up) they also had the SNK vs Capcom arcade soundtrack but I did not get that one.
In the dealer room I meet Chris who was very much into SNK. Oh for those wondering I was wearing my Sengoku 3 shirt and my Samurai Shodown 2 Cap. we talked a bit about the Neo and he agreed to meet up with us and one of his friends on Sunday. I went back up to the room then and gave trey a call who came over. We left the hotel and ate at TGIF's then came back and tackled the TV again. After looking a it a bit longer I was about to give up then it hit me. The wall jack. 2 screws later I had the Wall jack out and the neo hooked up to it's input. Success. trey then left to go to a party he was having and I went down to the BOA concert.
While standing In line there were 2 guys behind me who noticed my Sengoku 3 shirts. we started talking about the Neo and how he had wanted to buy one for awhile. I told him about the neo console and the convertor and some of the prices to espect. A also gave them my room to stop by on Sunday to check it out if they wanted. We then went into the BOA concert. They were no "System of a Down" but the were allrigt. Got a free promo CD then went to the j-pop room
Someone stold the DVD player out of the room. This sucked, I did meet up with the 2 guys again so i said well this bite lets go play some Neo. So we went back to the room and I hook the neo up. We played Ninja masters and Kizuna in team mode mostly, till around 2am. I gave one of them a built Blue mary resin I had and a issue of gamego. they said they would stop by tomorrow to play the neo some more and I went to bed.
Sunday I slept till Noon...Trey already was on the way so I jumped in the shower and got ready. Today I wore the Neo pocket shirt and cap. we meet then went down to the dealers room again. I talked again with Chris and Kimihiko-san. I told him a brought super dodgeball with me and I never saw anyone get so happy in all my life. He asked if he could see it so I brought it down, where he proceed to take pictures of the NGM game and marquees. They asked if the could stop by later and I said sure.
Trey and I then went back to the room and the 2 guys that played Kizuna last night were waiting. We went back in the room and started to play the neo some more. after a few hours we finally beat kizuna in team mode then we played ninja masters a bit. they left and said they would stop by this forum sometime. well it appered LIQUID SNAKE was a no show (yes I am calling you out everyone else had an excuse) So trey and I got something to eat. When we got back the 2 dealers from downstairs called and were coming over.
Chris, Kimihiko-san and his friend came buy. I showed them some neo coins I had brought along with the Ultra rare silver neo geo coins and a Gold terry bogard coin. we discussed this and finally came to a conclusion on the orgin (more on that in another post) I showed him super dodgeball and he was in Heaven. He was obviousaly a Dodge ball fan and had never seen the game. we played that and ninja master for a bit. Then I showed them the convertor and the Neo geo LT and AES II in the gamego. I gave him a Strikers and Ganyru MVS marquee set I had. They left to go back to the room but chris stayed to hang out. Trey, chris and I talked about the music CD side of the snk games. Chris was a dealer in the music cds and game mooks and had quite a collection. he also promised to email the Ninja masters movelist to us which I though was quite cool. That was pretty much sunday night so trey and chris left and I hit the sack again.
Monday was pretty much me packing and going back to houston. I did meet trey for lunch before I headed back.
All in all it was a pretty cool time And I wish you Bastards would start showing up to these neo outings that is pretty much it for me this year though. Unless someone wants to meet in Oralando for the exchange conference, I can always skip a day to play Neo
