I can't believe it. This game is going to be insane. I now have faith I will see it in the arcades and get a chance to try it out before I buy it. I bet Capcom won't mind releasing new 2D fighters after SNK vs Capcom is released.

I've never met anyone who didn't abolutely LOVE the Samurai Shodown series and Genjuro...if they knew about him. They really broke the mold with SSII. To this day it's one of the only classics that not only plays as well as the great games of today, but surpasses them. The characters are a big part of that. In arguably the finest fighting game roster ever made (SS II), Genjuro is arguably the coolest character. People love him, there is nothing cooler, tougher, or better thena badass samurai...

I'm really glad to see public support for this game. And, I'm glad that Genjuro is a big reason for that. The SS series is one of my all time favorite game series.

Now if we could only get some MOTW/LC characters in that roster...

This could be what puts SNK back on the map for the mainstream media.

The whole hype that surrounds it has me very excited and I'm stoked to see how the game will turn out as a whole. Will it live up to my expectations? That is yet to be seen, but so far so good. As for the adding the SS characters, I think it was a VERY smart move. Almost everybody I've talked to that has no idea what the Neo Geo is knows exctly what SS is and I always gets comments like "I used to play SS alot when I was a kid at the arcade and on the SNES" and they always mention Earthquake too for some ungodly reason.

Earthquake is a very memorable character for people used to SF2. He's absolutely HUGE. Makes a big impression in your memory.

I think the only reason that that comment was there in the first place is because Greg is an SNK and a SS freak ever since. And I think the section is popular because every site is linking to their images.

Nevertheless, props to him for making that comment. It helps SNK in its promotion for the game since Gamespot is probably the most popular online gaming news.

I'm glad that it's getting this much exposure, but I don't want a whole bunch of people overusing Genjuro. I want to be the only one! wink

This rocks, maybe this will give some credit to SNK in this 128-bit next gen world.Great to see a SNK game even in the top 10.

Good stuff :)

I think it got to third because that Greg guy pointed it out that it was 9th, and got more clicks for the game info.

. . . which is kinda how all the games in the top lists get there and stay there. They get mention on the landing page, get some clicks and once they are on the lists, people click it to see why it is getting so many clicks.

Still though, the title has to generate some modicum of interest on its own to even get there, which is awesome for SNK vs. Capcom. Very refreshing to see the level of interest from the general gaming public.

Kasvin is pretty hardcore Neo, and being Executive Editor he really pushes is, which is great :D

Now lets hope everyone else waits for the port and doesn't try to snatch the MVS/AES carts once its released.
