I saw this myself, but it's good to see that it's posted!! ^_^ I think I'll end up picking these up when they come out, I'm not so sure though. I would really like to make sure the gameplay is actually good since those are in the alpha and beta stages (correct me if I'm wrong).

I also heard a Metal Slug cell phone game is coming out as well!! This would be a very good thing as long as the game play turns out well!!

It's a cell-phone game. That means it's either uncool trash, or cool trash. I've never been that excited about the prospect of cell-phone games. The ones I usually enjoy the most, and mildly at that, are the old school ones that don't take much to program and don't totally make the player go blind. Stuff like a Qix clone, or a tank maze shooter. Simple stuff, as cells tend to really blur up stuff in motion.

What if KoF came out for the <a href="http://www.n-gage.com/n-gage/home.html" target="_blank">Nokia N-Gage</a>?

I played the cel-phone KOF at e3. It was so slow it made playing impossible. It was about as fun as being kicked in the shin. I hope they will vastly improve it before its release. Also, trying to play on the cel-phone button layout added to the difficulty and unpleasurable experience.

My old cel phone had Tetris on it. I had a lot of fun with that,
I never made a single call with it.

Played Moto GP on my sister's Motorola. Worst racing game evar. It's not even worth the effort programmers put into it, and that effort isn't even worth that much either.

True, normally cell phone games aren't that fun if at all, but I have two games already on my cell and those are SEGA Monkey Ball and Space Invaders.

Monkey Ball isn't that bad of a game, but it's kind of hard to control. But from the graphics capibilities from the cell phones, it's not too shabby of a game to play, just move your monkey ball from the beginning to the goal.

Space Invaders is a great cell phone game. I didn't have a single problem with the controls and it is a great time waster.

How many characters did it have?
If you're talking about the King of Fighters Playphone game, it had 4, they were Terry Bogard, Kyo Kusanagi, Athena Asamiya, and Mai Shiranui. Pretty lame if you ask me.

Get a NGPC for your portable SNK fun!

Question: why does the Samurai Shodown ad have screenshots from SS!2 NGPC and then the artwork of Jin-Emon who only appears in Warrior's Rage 2?

How does this whole cell phone game thing work in the US anyways?

I don't understand, it looked like that 'Samurai Shodown' game was a product that you actually bought. What is it, some kind of chip or memory stick that your phone reads?

Here in Japan we just download games. There are a few sites (like Namco) that allow you to access a particular game for 200yen a month... other sites let you play for 10yen per game.

Some phones have a game built in. iku's last phone had a mini Capcom game built in, it was called 'Crosswalks' or something like that, and played like a sliding tile game. She'd never let me play it though 'cause she said it 'drained her batteries'.

I wouldnt put too much thought in the depth of a cell phone fighter, I would just enjoy the novelty of it. But thats just me.

Same here. I would just love telling everyone that they can play their little "Snake" game while I sit back with some KOF or SamSho.

Yeah, on a normal basis we download games and pay for them like $3-$5 per month. These SNK games however from Playphone are bought at a store for $10-$15 and then you get a pin number inside a box and call the pin number and download the game.
