I mean c'mon...can we at least move them to the unrelated topics or the war room? It's getting really aggrevatting sifting through thread upon thread of "I like neo-geo Pleaz answer me"

Am I the only one?

Nope. Although it's nice to see more neogeo fans, I'd rather see thier opinions on neo issues than a life biography.

I think newbies need to introduce themselves!
I like it!
Although I think there's a lot of ringers amongst the newbies at the moment!

I do not think this will have any serious after effect.
Most people start that way, its like seeing a huge poll and not jumping in, you have to introduce yourself.
It just gets damn irratating when the next 5 accounts or so to register is Orochi Tigresa, I mean damn.
Now if we do not let the new members say hi, does that seem a little to guarded?
I do not think it will work, I mean why not make a new forum "Newbies welcoming" or some shit.

Nah that would not work either, even better idea, starting my own board...

Ditto.

I figured people would just ignore me until I said something important...then they'd continue to ignore. *shrug*

If its that big of a deal for people to introduce themselves or too big of a deal of it clogging forums..... why not make a "Welcome Room"?

Yeah that kinda sucks, but in my opinion, I think members doing a post to get themselves known by other members is great, that's what I did when I was a newbie at neo-geo.com I did not get a good welcome but people did get to know me after that. Also we gota do something about the Tigresa accounts she got like 15 right now if I can count well.

Ps: I think I am a newbie post is a must for newbie members to get known by the community

But thats just one opinion in 1433 members.

I agree, I haven't been posting much. But I've been around reading stuff. I vivisted the News and Rumours and General Discusion boards and I saw about 6 topics just about saying hi hi hi hi. I consider it as spam

Funny now that I think of it. I never really introduced myself to anyone. I just kinda went with the flow when the site 1st opened and went from there. I don't post as much as other users*LWK for example* But I will make a comment when I feel like it. I don't mind all the newbies posting. I just hope that they are legit ones and not fake accounts from other users around here.

Hey:

While I have no problem with people saying, "hey, I'm new and have a few questions", when I see eight new "NEWBIE HERE" threads a day, it becomes slightly annoying. I just try to be oblivious to it now...

As a newbie who introduced hisself I think it's a good practise to do so. I've been at dozens of fora, but I've never seen this kind of family-style which can be found here. By posting my introduction I wanted to pay tribute to this. And what goes for the spam-thingy: There are people here with very big footers/signatures, with animated gifs and stuff. Two or three postings from these guys deliver more bytes to this forum than any "hi-hi-hi" thread. Spam's a bit mean a word for this...

However, I agree with the idea of a dedicated welcome forum.

I have to say the "Hi i'm new" posts are kinda annoying. Just join the board, start posting, and people will soon know who you are.

The life story posts are really not needed, because most people here could care less anyways
