I second that.

Remember the discussion about disabling counts in the War Room? Some ppl argued that the count hunters would go flooding unrelated instead, and I guess they were right.

So - down with the post count in unrelated.

It has never got as bad as the war room, i would also say yes to this as well.

I dont really care if it goes or not. We would see who really posts because they want to and who really posts to get the counts up.

Or if not get rid of it straight away then keep in it your minds (you proberly have already) And if it gets out of handthen get rid of it straight away.

It is a shame people only post to get there counts high. But its puts a smileon some peoples faces and angryfaces on others, at the end of the day it cant really be helped you are goingto get it anywhere you go. :)

I'd rather see post counts gone in the Creative forum instead of Unrelated. All most people use Creative for is sig tests.

I inquired about this a few months ago. Unfortunately, it looks like only one Forum can be designated Post Count Free at a time. The next UBB upgrade might allow for more options, though.

If people are this uptight about disabling post counts, then why not just get rid of post counts completely. Might as well disable post counts in "General Discussion", look at all the spam threads there (ie. those non-english threads).

I don't even know why people care in the first place. Or why other people complain about them. Have you nothing better to do?

Post count should be disabled at the creative forum since now that place is just used for tests and other crap.

I'm not sure why anyone even cares that the Unrelated topic is flooded with "spam". If people post to the topics, there must be SOMETHING of interest there, thus, it isn't spam. Now if someone goes in and just posts stupid shit, then yes, they are just going for post count; maybe you should look at banning them for a bit.

And why does it matter about the post count anyway? It's not like you win a prize or anything for having the most posts.

If you are going to disable post counts in Unrelated, disable it everywhere.

How about moving the unrelated (non game) topics to the war room, then?

It would seem that people want to talk about this unrelated/personal/birthday stuff, but since Neo releases are few and far between, it makes sense to have a clean forum where gamers can talk about non-Neo games. It's just way to cluttered right now...

Bah, it doesn't matter.

Seriously, if you remove the post count for the Unrelated then guess what'll happen? People will start flooding the other forums as well. Those forums have strict guidelines and would be even more damaged by spam than any other ones (like specifically the News and General Discussions, must be Neo related only, or at least they SHOULD be, by thier criterion) whereas the Unrelated is more of a 'anything goes', where the Spam doesn't suck as much.

See, getting rid of post counts in the War Room was good because before then, people could spam it up in there, but when the counts were removed if they wanted to spam they'd have to do it elsehwere, but THEN that thread could be moved into the War Room with the rest of the junk, and subsequently...killed.

By disabling the War Room, we have a place to throw all that shit and let it die.

But if you disable the Unrelated, then the Spam will infest the rest of the boards into the more...well...'proper' areas.

Either disable post counts all together or leave a relatively out-of-the-way place for these fools to pump up thier counts.

Hell, I'm all for disabling them totally, but if you're gonna keep them then people are gonna try to pad thier counts...if you can't stop them, at least keep them out of the way, dump the spam posts into the War Room, if they really want to 'keep this thread going', then they can do it all they want.

P.S. if we do remove the Unrelated, I will, no doubt, fall from my seat as the highest averaging poster (time on the board vs. total posts made), and I'm all for that :) .

Then it becomes Video Game Unrelated in fact, if not in name, which is what we do not want to do.

Any hopes and condensing some of the lesser-used neo forums to make way for an unrelated game forum, then?

I realize Neo Geo is the focus (and it should be), but with so little in the way of new material to discuss, a dedicated forum where Neo fans can talk about non-Neo games seems like a good idea...

As it stands, it's pretty much impossible to talk about other games when half the posts on the front page of Unrelated is "Happy Birthday Member X!"

Just a thought...
