The forums have been upgraded from version 5.45c to 5.47e. This is the newest, non-beta version of ubb. 5.47e was just released yesterday. The forums will now function considerably faster and we will experience increased stability. New features like spell check and a helpful faq have been added.
View the UBB version notes for all the benefits involved.

All the hacks have been erased because all scripts were replaced. The major hacks, Who’s Online & the Rank hack can and will be reinstalled when time permits.
UBB 6 is just around the corner. It has been in open beta testing for a few weeks now.

Shawn, I like the little extras that you have implemented. But I do miss the option that allowed you to see which and how many members were currently on the board. Are you going to put that feature back on? The forum looks kind of dead w/ out it...

As soon as I finish with the memberlist I will begin working on the Who’s Online feature. Looks like you won’t be shocked http://www.neo-geo.com/ubb/bolt.gif any, considering you are on your way to being the first SNK Guru!

Who’s Online, Memberlist, Greetings to the newest registered member, and Total Posts hacks now reinstalled. I believe that covers everything. Enjoy!

I figured you must have installed the new version from the set-up. I like being able to choose which page of a topic to jump to, without having to open up the first page of said topic. Makes me wonder if www.pvponline.com (http://www.pvponline.com) is perhaps upgrading their forums, as they also use UBB, but it cannot be accessed at the moment. Their forums are a large, conglomerated mess, however, with only three subject areas, and the area concerning the comic itself may as well be "Unrelated Topics," since that is about all that is posted there.

The forums you are referring to at www.pvponline.com (http://www.pvponline.com) are using 5.44b, which was released in March of 2000. I see zero hacks installed. They must have had server problems, but I’m positive they did not upgrade.
Being able to click on a specific page of a topic is a great new feature. That will speed up browsing the forums and also help on bandwidth on the long run. Someone just pointed out that new feature to me.
Are there any new feature requests? Use this link to see whats available:

Perhaps you could sub-divide the forum topic areas a little more. Have a main area of "Tech Support," then sub-categories for MVS, AES, CD, and NGPC.

The Tech Support forum is fine the way it is. Now the Neo-Geo 16-bit forum, it could be broken down further. Into an AES, MVS, and CD section.

That might streamline things a bit more. I just hate to see everything wind up in one large morass of senseless posts, like the forums at http://www.pvponline.com . They only have three areas, and you are lucky to find anything of significance there.
