I know this is a recurring thread here, but sometimes action REALLY needs to be taken.

Samurai Hamster has a sig containing a 360k animated .gif of Terry Bogard. That takes two minutes just to load that picture alone on 28.8. We're not all running around on high-speed connections, let's have a little sympathy for those of us on dialup. <img src="graemlins/veryangry.gif" border="0" alt="[Very Angry]" />

Razial's sig is too damn big vertically... it's three pictures on top of each other, Rival Schools pictures at that. It takes up over 1000 pixels vertically. We're not all running around on super-mega high resolutions here... I think if your sig fills up the entire screen on 800x600, then it's way too fucking big. <img src="graemlins/annoyed.gif" border="0" alt="[Annoyed]" />

on a somewhat related note, sometimes I feel really sorry for gamegen.com's bandwidth. All you people linking to their files...

I have dsl but I know dialup sucks.
The moderators should put a limit on the sig pic size.
Hell some of them actually take more than a second for me to pull up.
If it takes that long for me than people with a dialup are probably done reading the posts by the time they come up.

Limiting the size would probably be a good idea, I remember being stuck on dial-up.

Its no good, some of these peoples sigs are pretty big.

I agree with Blaine, 50k is a very reasonable limit for sigs. If you have a pic that's bigger than that, either resize it or don't use it at all. Now, what about the "tall" vertical sigs? <img src="graemlins/shame.gif" border="0" alt="[Shame]" />

it looks like action has been taking regarding the two counts above too, good work "MANAGEMENT"

Crazyman_bob's sig is pretty damn "long" too... it should be either the picture or the text, using both takes up an awful lot of space

What I suggest Shawn does is go over to the madonion.com message boards and ask one of the mods if you could have the “Zig.js” script. It’s a script that filters out signatures above a certain size. Tell them “Flyingfish128” sent you.

Put an URL of an image within a

tags. Go to 'My Profile' and do this in the Signature box.

And the image can't come from your hard drive, it has to be uploaded. So, really it should be in the form of <a href="http://a-web-adress-here.com." target="_blank">http://a-web-adress-here.com.</a>

My sigs cool

luckily i dont have that problem of dial up

but at times if my connection is not as top notch as usuall it does sometimes take ages just for the page to open up but as for sigs i get to see them straight away

I think that the way that MMCafe does their sigs is very nice (except that you sig is under every post).

I think that there is a limit like 256X90 size or sumpin. I think that makes people get creative as well as saves me on my f'n dial up.
