Look I have no problems with the Italian thread going for as many pages as it did. But for christs sake, this is an English forum, so post in that language!

It's almost like a "what are you hiding" kind of thing but honestly, if we're going to have a thread that big on the boards then at least make it so that everyone else can participate in it!

Also a topic w/ that much spam would have been closed down if the mod's could understand it, IMO. Not that it was all spam, but there's a lot of it in there!

Peace

I m french and we also have our thread ! IMO it s a good thing ! ok it s an english forum but as far as we speak our language in our topic, I think it s ok !

but I agree to desactivate post count in "only for ... neogeofans". that s a suggestion !

what do you think about it mods ???

multilanguage threads are good. There are a lot of members who only post in the italian thread and nowhere else.

i created the french thread at the beginning, just wanted to know if other french use this forum, anyways i have no prob to write a post in english, i guess not a perfect english.
only i doesnt understand why some peoples seem upset about a thread for italian and a other thread for french, jealousy ??????

kinda weird for me, and honestly i will not like see my thread closed for this reason !

i think we do nothing bad and respect other peoples !

I just get the feeling that those threads wouldn't be as long as they are if the Mod's or other people could easily read them. It's kinda like me making a thread where, a few select members could post in it. I don't like excluding people like that.

I mean it is possible to somewhat see what you guys are saying, I've used altavista's translation tools, just to make sure you guys weren't bad mouthing me or anyone a few times :) :p

But I still think that we should make it so that everyone can understand what everyone else posts.

That Italian thread is the biggest spam on these forums, if it was in English it would have been gone AGES ago.

Have your read much of the italian thread. It's pretty funny to see what they say. It's more interesting than the shit in the warroom, because most of those guys are collectors who have dealt with other members and have a good opinion of matters regarding the "scene." Of course, reading it through babel fish is a bit of a hindrance. I should take a course in Italian or French.

Fluent in only 1 language is a real shame.

I dunno, the french thread just seems like everyone's saying the same thing as in the other topics but with less spam. Well, I didn't feel like reading all of the pages so I skipped a few.

I don't think there's any ill-will or posting to exclude anyone. I just think they're posting because its more comfortable to speak with others in your own language.

Does it explicitly say anywhere that this is an English only forum?

You must understand. I'm only 14 and I can't speak English very well. Why don't you all speak german or italian ?

To be honest, i don't like too much the italian topic... too much spam in there, but, sometimes, there's some interesting stuff to read...

Anyway, here we have about 200 active "english" topics every single day, and you are "worried" because there are 2 topics in foreign languages... come on... :p

The only time it gets annoying for me is when people switch languages in the middle of threads that were started in English.

I've got no problem with the wholly French/Italian threads.

becausein the United States, most children don't learn a second language until they are incapable of ever becoming fluent in it. tens of thousands of kinds in high school learning French, only to disgrace it with their horrible American accents. It can't be helped. Languages should be started at a much younger age. Not sure why this isn't the case in public schools.

I say leave these ppl alone if they want their thread let them keep it. There not hurting anyone i dont understand why its important to know what everyone else is saying. But somepeople speak better in their language then english. Plus i dont think shawn would delete that because neo geo fans exist all around the world. Not just here in the states so let them have it. And stop this crap its just another form of racism. Believe it or not.......
