new "best" game poll...

I feel that there was a handicapt to the polls of best shooter, best fighter, etc... And that being very few people have played MOST of the neo geo titles, and that is not taken into account. A large number, including myself, would say that they have played under 40 neo titles, easy. Rare games won't get a fair representation because there is no reference to how many people have played them. I think there should be a poll where FIRST everyone goes through a lsit and checks all games they have played, and THEN go on with the regular favorite polls. ie: Why else would waku waku 7 get such a low score? I think this would bring ballance to the polls. Just a thought.

1 - not possible with current ubb version.

2 - polls are not meant to be that accurate to what games really are the best, as much as which ones are most fan appreciated.

Hence, if Waku Waku 7 gets a bunch of votes, regardless of how few in comparison to KoF 20XX, someone might be interested in giving it a shot.

I was thinking that the ubb might not handle it. But on the note of fan appreciation, the fans can only appreciate what they play or see played. Your "favorite" would suggest that you, the voter, have played the assortment. I understand if thats not what you were going for in your polls. Maybe this is a suggestion for a different poll all together. Mine would be like a mass fan review that comes out well ballanced, as opposed to trusting one or two peoples opinions in a typical review. Maybe later...

I mean, thik of why it is that FFVII or Madden 2003 is on the Gamepro top 10 game lists.

Because they are actually the top 10 best games, or because most gamers (including casual and non-gamers who just vote) haven't played truly great games. Or because in order to appeal to the lowest common denominator, you need to cater to the lowest common intellect.

But really, the important thing is that you know how great Waku Waku 7 is, and after enough people promote it, more people will make an effort to try it out, and give it a shot, and likely fall in love with it too.
