Can you give us some of the questions that would be on the test?

That's a rather silly suggestion IMO. I can only second Giby's question: What kind of stuff would you put in? Questions about world capitals, the square root of 36 or how many brain cells Leslie has left?

C'mon now...

Amano just wants to filter out the Home Cart collectors in favor of the dirty MVS kids.

Hmmm.... isn't this giving new memebers the "Jim Crow" treatment??

Why can't you guys bring back GOOD "Crow".. like giving posters the TOM CROW treatment instead???

God, the neo community is becoming too small and secluded as it is. We should be begging Neo members to join. The more the merrier.

I'm honestly getting sick of all of the elite sentiments being sputtered by some people here.

Arguments are fine, yeah, but half of the people who consider themselves "harcore neo nuts" we could probably do with out.

How bout a test for current members?

Come on, do I need to add the "just j/k" each time I do a joke? Jokes lose their fun when you actually have to remark it is a joke...

I know the idea is stupid, but after reading some of the shit our latest aditions have posted, like the Pollux brothers, GARNER and neo*geo, I wondered if they could have passed any of the tests they do when you are going to join a company, and then I thought "Hell, that would be fun if we made a similar thing".

Whoever thought that I was serious on this, well... (WARNING: joke ahead!) you wouldn't pass one of those tests :D

Maybe I wouldnt pass it.

Hell, you got me. But you know, I've been seeing these threads far to often, so my shock has gone, and I thought it was becoming a common sentiment.

Sorry man.

Yes, but there's LaserActive who is a big Neo CD fan and works on a CD-to-Cart comparison chart and ppl like Val who come here and start posting in Gameplay/KoF topics and try to help others right away. Both of them have joined just recently and they seem to be cool guys that have something to share with others, not only in terms of trading/buying/selling stuff.

...heh, btw., I clearly remember that a certain member called Amano Jacu created his account back then to get help with modding his Neo Geo CD unit from PAL to NTSC, and I also remember that a certain other member patiently helped him without thinking twice about his "n00b status"...

Do you think you had passed a Neo/SNK-related test when you signed in? smirk wink

Will there also be a mandatory drug test?

Cause I'm taking prescription medication for my depression and I don't want to give anyone the wrong impression.

Shit, looks like you can't make a joke... oh_no

Anyway I didn't say the test would be neo-related, just IQ and personality. I've got a degree on Maths and I'm doing a PhD, I think I would pass the IQ one. About personality, well, as I said it would try to detect trolls/spammers/etc , nothing else.

I know there are some new members that are being very helpful and contribute to this site, but others just don't. So the purpose of my suggestion (that, by the way, was a joke, in case somebody still hadn't noticed), was that it would be good to filter this 2 types of people. I'm not suggesting, like other members, to close the doors to EVERYBODY. Just try to filter.

Yes, me, and everybody else, was a n00b once, I'm not ashamed by that. I have no problem saying that my first post here was about my problems with my NGCD and that you, among other people, were of a big help. However that is what the Tech forum is for, for helping each other (well, and the entire boards for that matter). I don't remember me spamming that much as some other people, even when I was a n00b. And in any case, so far I think I have helped A LOT of people in Tech matters anyway, so I've given back whatever help I was given in the first time, I'm not selfish.
Just an example, you can see here I had a lot of patience with a "n00b" with a problem:

<a href="http://www.neo-geo.com/cgi-local/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=5;t=005360" target="_blank">http://www.neo-geo.com/cgi-local/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=5;t=005360</a>

Please excuse me for this thread, I didn'y expect people would react like this. Breath, man.
