Okay, I admit I've only been paying a slight bit of "monitoring" attention to the AaronLewis threads, so I need to ask a few question to determine what can be done:

- Which thread in particular? (if you could just past the URL, that would help)

- Who editted the post, did he or did a mod?

- Did anyone use the "quote" feature on his original post?

He has edited every reply he made (they all say edited by: aaronlewis), deleting all of his responses.

I'm going through the thread now and I'm not seeing anyone who had quoted his posts.

It would be helpful to have a record of his "stories" (ie: Postal Employees stole packages, etc.) when I speak to the Rogers, AR police department later.

If he edited it, and no one quoted it, it's may be difficult (if not impossible) to get the original version.

However, Mouse_Master did mention that there are back-up saves of the entire forum on our server-host, but I don't know how those work -they may not help, but I strongly recommend you email Mouse_Master if you need to know for legal action.

Most database backups cannot be partial-restored. You would most likely have to do a redirect restore of the entire DB to a roughly equivalent backup server. And even then, you would not see a version history for any thread but a single version of the entire forums as it was at the time of the backup.

Bottom line, if there is a backup server and you know the exact date and time range when the thread contained the good info, then you have a slim chance. Talk to Mouse however, it is a pretty huge undertaking in any case.

Yeah, that's what I feared. Unfortunately it seems pretty darn unlikely.

Dammit! He did that because if people tried to prosecute him, he deleted the text from the posts, because people could use that as evidence and he would lose if people were to take him to court. So, now, we don't have the evidence, people can't take to court. So, that's proof that's he a big tyme scam artist. (How could I been so stupid?)
