With this aaronlewis drama that has unfolded as of late, I'm sure many of you are quite pissed off. I, luckily was lazy in shipping so I am not out anything from him.

What I think needs to be done to prevent something such as this, is create some sort of a trading forum. In here, no would you trade this for this and stuff like that would be discussed. In this forum, you would have one of the two people that were involved in the trade post a message. The title would be something such as: aaronlewis and scooby105. Thats it. On the inside, it would have what the two traded. Then, upon recieving the item, you would respond with "items received." This way, if you are going to do a trade with someone, you could look in the trading forum and see things such as how many trades the person is currently involved in. In this case, you would have seen a good 20 or so trades with aaronlewis in the topic. From there, one could gather that something fishy was up. On top of just the topic, you could then look inside the post and see what items were traded. Then you would also be able to see that he was trading the same cart to multiple people or trading things he did not have yet. It is important, I believe that this is the only topics that are posted in a forum such as this. Topics such as "is ... a good trader would belong elsewhere.

Just a thought to throw out. Many people are scared of trading at this point I'm sure, or even buying items and it shouldn't be that way. But, for people like me who use this board for pretty much buying/selling and the occasional tech support only, I think this would be a very good idea. I'm sure there are many other ways to do this such as fancy scripts and such, but I know most people do not have time or the ability (like me) to do something like that.

I think you're onto something here. that's a great idea. In addition, maybe feedback can be left in some of the posts.

That's a pretty good idea, but there would be no privacy for the engaging parties.

If deals are out in the open, trades can be jeopardized by other interesting parties.

Reference check would be best.If the person in question does not have any good feedback,he/she must
agree to send first,no question asked.

aaronlewis did have good feedback though
feedback doesnt provide much information on anything
trading is a lot like sports
what have you done for me lately is all that matters

the deal wouldnt be posted in this forum until the packages have been sent anyways or in theory thatd be how it works anyways

2 good feedbacks isn't enough,though.

Liquid and Koresh shouldn't have vouched for him:ohno:

When I asked him for references,he pointed me to that BS thread,in which members were stupidly praising him.

The best thing to do,is to ask anyone YOU have never dealt with personally to send FIRST,unless he/she has SOLID references.

Well, you can ask his references about the nature of their previous deals, like what the deal was,or what was traded/bought/or sold.

I would also like to ask everyone to STOP making threads praising a new member.Providing them with a positive reference should be enough.

This whole mess got its start from that stupid Aaronlewis praise thread. If you'd look closely, there are many people in that thread giving him praises even before the deal went through. These very same people are having problems with their deal with him NOW.
