I'm starting to wonder if he's actually scammed anyone.

If he had, I would expect to hear about actions taken outside of verbal claims.

Oh, I'm sure there's a number of people who would respond.

The problem is that if you get scammed as a buyer there's not much you can do about it (legally at least wink ).

I just recently had over $200 taken from me and from what I've read I can't do a damn thing about it. I filed a complaint with PayPal and got a whopping $0.18 back, and talking to the police apparently doesn't do a damn thing unless you've gotten scammed out of $5000+ dollars.

The only thing you can do is try to tell others not to make the same mistakes.

When a seller (whether here, eBay, etc.) has one or 2 bad feedback, you don't think a whole lot of it. When the person has multiple accounts and a ton of bad feedback on each of them, you have to admit that something isn't right.

Ok, thanks for the link (I stand at least partially corrected) but what if the seller doesn't live in the USA?

Better to let him stay, since we know he's posting under this alias.

I bet he'd come back under another alias within days and maybe it'd be too late when we would find out it's actually him.

Just let him keep his personal user title to warn people :)

Yup, things would be much quieter here with you as a mod with banning powers... No scammers... No rom-whores... No porties... No NOTHING... You would ban everybody else and be the only one left posting...

Am I right? Who would you ban (or rather who would you NOT ban, that be a shorter list).

I would seriously give xtoo_short20x Mod powers if I had the ability. I am sure he would not band people on the spot like most think. I assume he would give them a warning at first. We need one strict Mod and the rest can stay as lineate as they currently are so we can have some balance.

doesn't work to well under $1000.

I shouldn't be saying that but really... if you get messed over for $500 or less... unless you go and get it back for yourself (whether you have to rip out their teeth and leave it under your pillow for the tooth fairy) Law doesn't help.

No moderator can BAN any member just by pleasure.

Doing the opposite would be such a low-level moderator attitude.

Best example of good moderator : RyoGeo. wink

Well I wouldn't ban any porties, unless they're
causing chaos.

Better he stays with that rank to warn everyone. If he gets banned he'll come back and try to rip off someone else.

Fact is Blue is right on this part Bobak. If you get ripped off for 50 to 100 bucks it is very hard to get law enforcement to take you serious but if the person does go over the state grand theift dollar amount they can be charged, prosecuted and jailed very easily. Of course this may require you making a total pain in the ass out of yourself by hounding the police and prosecutor with daily phone calls for updates :) but if you stay on it they get sick of all the damn phone calls and faxes and get off thier asses and charge the scammer.

Sometimes it takes a while but you eventualy get results. Scam busting really isnt done by internet faqs but phone calls and leg work.
