Sig sizes (again)

Something really needs to be done about sig sizes. Not just bytes but length

Blaster Keaton's for one is insane just now. I run my desktop at a 1280x1024 and it fills a whole screen.

We really need some rules.

We already have a rule that sigs shouldn't exceed 100K in size. And you're quite right that there should be resolution limits as well. Usually when you ask the member to please change his sig, he will be cool about it. Then if he doesn't, other people join in and flame him, and eventually he WILL change it.

Anyway, link to the offending thread with his sig? eye

also worth noting in that thread is that Razial has a 352k animated .gif too. oh_no

A software change should be imposed that only displays a member's sig once per thread.

Everyone posts their sigs with every post in a thread, which is really annoying.

Threads are half sig images. oh_no

I see that Blaster Keaton has fixed his sig (only about 50k now), but you're right that Raziel's sig is a ridiculous 352K, and it isn't even that great. Kind of stupid actually. He should change it out to one under 100K in size . . . or if he doesn't, it is likely his sig will be cleaned/locked. annoyed

I sometimes use a trick... If I want to read a thread without sigs or avatars, I just click the reply button and look at the bottom of the reply page, the thread appears there without sigs nor avatars. It only works in not too long threads, though.

Anyway we SHOULD have an option to disable the viewing of sigs. And make a sig appear only ONCE per thread. Or put strong limits on their size/dimenson. Or even better, eliminate them all!

Yeah, before the upgrade sigs only appeared once, but that feature was lost in the upgrade.

In my opinion, everybody should try to autocontrol their sig, trying not to make it larger than 100 kb, longer than say half a screen, and hotter than Bay watch mr_t

Oh well, the only "sarcasm" I intended was about the half naked chicks many people has, I just think that even not being porn (as they don't show nudity, but... :rolleyes:

) some people may judge them to be "too hot". I was just thinking to make a comparision with something that featured gorgeous ladies insinuating breasts and "Bay Watch" came to my mind.

And yes, I agree that half a screen (taking a 800x600 screen as reference though) would be too much anyway, we should consensuate a reasonable limit.

I just wanted to point that until we manage to upgrade the software and implant this new rules (and specially because of the fucking repeated quotes and sigs), people should autoregulate themselves much more.

Speaking of quotes, people should get used to manually erase the repeated quotes when they are writing a reply, I do this all the time.

There are also some sigs around there that are not big in bytes but have a lot of text with the pics, so they use almost a full screen... annoyed

Whats the point of keep asking as nothing has been done about it .

Its more like a fkn art gallery now than a forum,

I am sick or slow loading pages because of so many high resolution pics being loaded up, most of the time i just click stop so atleast i get to read some threads as otherwise im sitting here twiddling my thumbs wondering waiting.
