multiple use of the same avitar = a no-no

i dont think multiple use of the same avitar should be allowed.

one instance is the_move and bobak.

if you look at the_move's post, in the selling forum, it looks like a joke post, and i originally was going to respond with a joke answer because i thought it was bobak being funny or something. i usually just glance at the avitars, rather than look at their name.

so i think multiple use of the same avitar shouldnt be allowed to clear up any possible confusion

Well, the Avatars are for use by anyone that Posts here. I suppose there is the option of making it so that every Avatar in use has to be a Custom Avatar, but that would generate a lot of work.

If people want a Custom Avatar that no one else can use, they can get one by making a 64X64 pixel .GIF of approximately 5K in size and sending it to shawn@neo-geo.com with their User ID for the site. This allows Shawn to put that Avatar in a custom file folder that only they can access.

Other than that, I do not see any major change in Avatar Use Policy anytime soon.

I too though the_move was Bobak at first as I only ever see Bobak with that krauser avatar.read his reply about samurai 5 thinking it might be of substance then found out it was a newbie.even though i presume it is a alternate id fot a older member
its like SIY and devil_gans too,i scroll down the same iori face not knowing whos posted unless i read their name as they are both always in the warroom...lol
,you dont need to customize peoples avatars...but as soon as you take a available avatar,then it should not be avalible for anyone else,after all there is enough avatars to go round,and first come,first serve <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

I think keep it like this, it doesn't give you more right to have a avatar if your first at it. I mean c'mon if some1 had a cool avatar and I would like to wear it and hes like ''no I was first'' that would spoil this. And besides if we actually do this, we should've got 2000+ avatars. And there is also something like a ''name'' Don't just watch the avatars, there would be like 100 Bobaks running around the forum if it wasn't for his avatar <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

There r over 2500 members here,so by your suggestion,there must be over 2500 avatars so that pp won't use the same,so that means hundreds of avatars should be made just to cater you and again everyday because new members just keep comin'.So don't grumble when ppl use the same avatar as u r.

One way to generate new avatars is to keep active old custom avatars ppl have used in the past they no longer use.

(For example, I used to have a Caffenine Nicotine avatar as a custom)

In other words, turn custom avatar ppl no longer use, and make available to everyone in the community.
