Enable the delete post ability

Taken from a previous post by Shawn:
A couple of members have been deleting their own spam in an attempt to falsely blame the moderators of abusing their positions. As much as I appreciate the spammers deleting their own posts, I cannot allow this masquerade to go on.

This is just wrong. I never delete my posts, at the most I go back and edit things. Now, let's think about this... I'm offline all weekend, come back to see what kind of replies I got, and all of my posts are gone.

Who has the ability to delete posts? Well obviously the first people I'm going to blame would be the Warmods.

Now, LWK did come up with a good possibility of who might have deleted our posts, a member having hacked again... But I don't know. And I didn't come right out and accuse Caris ( ) of it because I can't prove someone did it.

I'm sure that there's been days that myself and LWK have pissed off just about every member on this board, and probably the mods too.

Shawn, I'm assuming you have something to refer back to as far as our activity on the boards (ie posting, editing, deleting). If you do, please take a look at my activity from this weekend. I wasn't even online one time, I was moving. Surely the IP address will be incorrect, and not compare favorably to the IP I actually use when I'm on the board.

Surely once you see the results of that, you'll consider giving the "mature members" of this board the ability to delete their own posts again.

Thanks.

Just because you set the Who's Online setting to invisible does not mean that the moderators can not see what you are doing....

I'm not pointing any fingers, but you might be invisible to everyone else, but not the moderators, we can see what you are doing!

Oh... Ok, sorry for jumping the gun. It's just that since the so-called "spam-a-thon" it's been obvious that everyone here has mostly been on my case except for maybe Pro and LWK.

Behave?! That's just low, Bio. Can someone at least answer this question... Since I KNOW I wasn't online this weekend, can a mod take a look at the activity on my account and see what the IP address was when my account was online this weekend?

I was referring to your Spam-A-Thon that you engaged in. Why do you keep thinking we are talking about something else?

Why would you want the delete-post ability, unless you have something to hide? Look at posts just like real life... sometimes when you say mean things you can't take them back. There's no magical delete button to save your ass.

So I guess for now, people ill have to stand by what they say on the boards.

I guess I'm just being hard-headed. Shawn had posted that a couple of members (I assume myself accused as well) had deleted their own posts and then blamed the mods. Having had most of my posts deleted, have to assume he's talking about me as well.
I was just hoping that was some way I could prove I didn't.

As great as it is to say what one wishes, I think sometimes people wurf these boards with the wrong mindset. Ex: Drunk, Tired, Angry, etc. I think it's a good thing when one catches crap that they say and delete it. But I guess it's being abused here isn't it. -_-

I say leave it off, it will make people think before posting dumb shit they can't delete.

How, from reading all this crap, can people NOT know that it was Caris that dumped my posts?

Examples of things he's said today
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BURRRRRP!
blah blah

He said that after like four LWK complaints on the matter

and just now...
I say leave it off, it will make people think before posting dumb shit they can't delete.

Can any more behind be kissed to act like he's not the hacker?!

Also though you have to consider that people may have put up something that they may want to take back. They may of course spam but can't you as moderators know if they have done it. And to admit I have done it once because I introduced onto the board a person I know. He and I got into a little tiff about a topic I put up and I got all mad and went off topic. Though I regret doing that though good thing he doesn't come here anymore. So I am not innocent but I woul dlike the feature back.

I'm going to take the lack of comments as an admission, that it's now a known factor that I was NOT deleting my own posts. What a waste of time it was for whoever wiped out all of those posts. I sit at work, get online to this site most of the day, and post on this board. So of course, there'll be lots more posts from kyoisthekof before you know it.
