can we only show the birthdays for people who aren't timid neo newbies? Like if your post count is below 50 then your birthday doesn't display.

Yes, I don't want these people to count either. It's not fair that they be considered to be in the same class (and experience the same priviledges) as we do. They should also have to post 50 quailty posts. We should also relegate these little snots to a newbie forum where they can graze and mature, and then we can pick from that crop who can be the next regualr ng.com poster.

Being a ng.com regular poster has its responsibilities and a lot of these newbie kids just seem to not get it right.

More structure, less fun for the newbies, less chance of a spam outbreak.

Gentleman this sounds like an excellent solution to our problems on these boards the past few months. I'm all for a newbie forum.

or a "Gentleman's Club" where only members with a good track record are selected and permitted to post. :)

Did I miss something? Post counts are meaningless...any idiot can rack up thousands of posts.

actually,
why not take out the birthday function altogether.
it just adds more to the happy birthday
threads in unrelated.

well.
my real take on it is, whatever.
i mean there will always be newbies.
no big deal.
and like your situation they may not necesarily
be new to the scene. just to these boards.
if its really their birthday more power to them.
i dont mind others celebrating it.
personally its another day to me.
nothing special really. but to each his own.
;)

Ya kind of like ray, haha. Seriously though. It’s not to easy on the mods to regulate it all. It’s hard with over 2,000 members to evaluate everything. Just let it be, it’s all good ;)

well I dunno !

even after 700 posts I don't consider myself as a pro. it's true that some newbie ask stupid question and it's hard to see an intersting topic those days... best intro, best fighters, can I put an US cart into a japanese system...bla bla bla...

but give some privilege to the 'elite' of this board, I don't think it's a good idea.

you have a knowledge and you need to transmit it cause we won't be here forever, but the legend must live forever. we need more member.

just be patient. that's my opinion. and thanks to all of you cause during past year I've learn a lot.

Gentlemens Club = bad idea. Forms of elitism will only push newbies away from the scene. You guys are too hard on the new people around here, give em a break, and quit being so damn 'elite'. You guys aren't a group of aristocrats ya know. How hardcore do you think you are? Being involved in the Neo kind of already puts you, as a gamer, on a different level, since its got a niche fan base. So most people who come here are either owners, or prospective owners of the Neo Geo AES/MVS, and are every bit as hardcore as the rest of us. This excludes rom hounds of course.

This is a public board, and new members should always be welcome to join in discussions on any of the multiple forums included here at Neo-Geo.com. New members are not always aware that some of the questions they ask are common ones, and they may not think to check the FAQ right away, or to search old posts, as this site has some cool stuff to check out besides a FAQ. Heck, I don't see a link to a FAQ on the sidebar even.

Moderators, how can you get people to quit complaining about newbies? And, forget about the Gentlemens Gay Boys Hot Tub Club, this BBS is great the way it is.
