Cleaning up the member database

Right now there are currently 6395 Registered Members. Their are maybe at the MOST 700+/- active posters.

It is also almost impossiable to search through the directory and get the info you may need.

Maybe we could do some "spring cleaning" of the members.

What I think would be best is if an E-mail was sent to the account holder, and if he did not want his account or did not reply, it would be deleted.

Just an idea.

I agree.

Most halfway decent messageboards have this option built into it at this point. We'd also have to have a notice posted prominently on the forums for all active members to make certain that there contact information is up to date.

Good idea, I took a look at the directory again, and this is what I found.

Members with:

0 Posts: 2,000+
1-5 Posts: 1,500+
----------------
3,500+ inactive members

Thats more than half our members!

it's those one timers(meaning stayed for a month or less) they sign up do something stupid then leave...or it's people making alter-ego names.
