I disagree. Where were you and all the other portuguese speakers back when there were german, italian and french threads?

Back then there were no spanish nor portuguese threads.

Hell, even the german stuff was minimal at best.

It's really funny that the portuguese thread was made. I know I sound like an asshole, but you guys just started that thread because you saw the other nationalities getting their own forums.

Painting your thread like a warpost? Are you trying to act stupid or are you naturally that stupid? I don't care if you have a thread, nor will I post there because I don't know Portuguese. I'm just saying that your reason for starting it was less than honorable.

The idea of international forums becomes a relaity on ng.com - why not start a portuguese thread just to have a forum all to yourselves? That's really funny.

Anyhow, a spanish forum is more in order than a Portuguese one. Just my opinion since Spanish has a broader userbase where the speakers probably don't speak english. I know for a fact that many hispanic KoF players in California cannot speak English more than 4 words.

But anyhow if we have a Portuguese forum, why not a Tagalog forum or a Swedish forum? What a mess that would be.

Keep promoting this flimsy ideal if you like. I don't see it going anywhere. Might be good to have a forum that's deader than the hyper neo geo forum though.

That "Warpost" thingy was n't directed to you. don't call me stupid. ;)

And yes, that "warpost" is just about fun, not war.

Don't act foolish if you don't know what's going on man.

And I never said that "we" would have to be prioritized or my fellow spanish friends. AGAIN : this is only about fun.

We know totally that a forum is earned and not demanded.

I am 100% positive about a spanish forum. I always was and always will. Some persons are just selfish and this is not my kind of personality.

Did you realized how many portuguese & spanish speaking members where registered just after that cool idea about the international forums ??

I do not agree with cleber in his comment about the german forum, they deserve it as much as anybody else.

Am I clear ? <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" /> <img src="graemlins/tickled.gif" border="0" alt="[Tickled]" />

There is a clear "me too" attitude that brought up the current interest in a Portuguese forum.

I concur with Evil Wasabi that the interest was not present during the months and months of French/German/Italian threads.

A few weeks of proof and incessant pestering isn't proving much.

Yeah Mr. Judge! ( or any mod using it! <img src="graemlins/tickled.gif" border="0" alt="[Tickled]" /> ) ...

This ideia brought only one more "me too" atitude... you know wich was ??

Thank you you very much for providing me the happiness of seeing a lot of portuguese speaking guys showing that they love the Neo Geo and not just for spamming.

Now speaking JUST FOR MYSELF, did anyone saw me "sapmming" in other "english" threads ? NO.

I only spam on the portuguese forum because I am not pissing anybody off out there.

And I call that respect. And pleeezz.. I do not intend the war room as a "spam" active forum since our post counts are inactive when we post in there.

I only knew 1/2/3 portuguese members in existence on this boards ( including me ), not including my Brazilian brothers. Now we're being a lot counting my brazilian fella's.

We're not troublesome.

Keep your nice good work Judge, I may be one of the few guys who loves your job here, and the only fucking thing I can complain about the international forums is that the german forum is a fucking good hideout for that fucking Kyokugenstar scammer. he deserves to be shot.

This is the guy I think you should seek.

You should only get positive feedback for doin' that task.

Thanks Judge! ;) <img src="graemlins/tickled.gif" border="0" alt="[Tickled]" />

I think that every group should have his own forum, that shouldnt be a problem, so why not?
I think it really would be a good idea to give every common language an own forum. ;)
Portuguese is also spoken in many countries of the world. Brasil etc also speaks portuguese, so I am very sure that neogeo.com would have a lot of new members then because a lot of people dont speak english, that is the main reason why I think its a good idea creating these forums. :p

I can really second that, I also think that we will have a lot of new members because there are a lot of fans that cant write or read the english language. And for sure it will help to keep the legend alife for a long time!!! ;)

Check this other post by me:

Well, I think Spanish and Portuguese deserve a forum each one. There shouldn't be a difference between those and the 3 languages that already got theirs. So if you make a "other languages forum", you should eliminate those 3 and put them there.
Another possibility would be making forums in pairs or groups of 3. What about one forum Spanish-Portuguese-Italian, and one French-German-Dutch?
Remember that SNK has most of its games in Spanish and Portuguese too, so it makes sense that they are used here.

About the threads in general discussion with foreign languages, I'm the first that doesn't like them, but hey, that 3 languages made theirs and as a prize they got their own forum. I told Shawn that was like opening a Pandora box and everybody would do the same, so please don't make us go that way and give us the forum. But somehow he encouraged the creation of that thread, so there we go.

Finally, there's some neo fans worldwide that don't know English, so that way they can't use the forums. But if they could post in a place with their language, then problem solved.

<hr></blockquote>

We didn't start a Spanish thread because we thought it was not fair, and I was partidary of axing that 3 infamous spam threads. However they were rewarded. I didn't expect that. So what the hell? Its totally unfair that they got their forums after acting like that, and it opened the door to other people do the same.

And yes, both threads are full of spam. That's why I think all this is absolutely innecessary. But we will continue to defend what we believe we have the right to. If that's what Shawn wants, that's what he'll get, check what he said in the spanish thread, that obviously you didn't bother to read:

Oh I see what you are trying to do here. Follow suit of the other language threads and your Spanish forum will appear! We will see. International category is still under construction <hr></blockquote>

I actually started the spanish thread because Shawn said he would be willing to add French, Italian, German, and Spanish forums if speaker members of the languages would show interest...

Here's a simple fact that seems to make people think twice.

Shawn pays the bills for this site out of his own pocket.

That's a lot no matter how much you look at it considering how much his current internet bill will be with that mess of KoF 2K2 Videos he posted.

If Shawn does not want to pay for all this extra webspace and bandwith then he doesn't has to. He had those extra forums made as a courtesy to the majority of users who frequented NG.com from other countries.

Cleber,
No offense but I saw that spam session you made and that was a serious level of posting within a few days.

The fact of the matter is that unless you guys are paying for the bills, you can't make Shawn or anyone else do anything.

Spamming a single thread to death isn't how you win over a person to your viewpoint, it's how you make them disgusted.

I fully agree with Bonuskun. Frankly, we should be thankful for what we have here.

Because of this site, I've come across several very reliable dealers, and that's basically the reason I have a videogame collection (or at least helped me do it).

No one says you can't speak any given language on this site. The international forums were an awfully cool thing to do, but we don't need a forum for EVERY language.

Be kind.

I'm back, at least I'm trying to, sorry for the lack of support over this week. I'm having a rough time at college right now.

Anyway, here are some reasons to have a portuguese forum:

1- At SNK glorious (1994-1998) days we had an official SNK branch in Brazil called "SNK do Brasil"

2- In MVS market, Brazil still is one of great buyers of Playmore new releases.

3- Everybody throught the age of 12 to 25 knows what is a neogeo. I mean EVERYBODY.

4- We had officially released the neogeoCD console and games and prototype inserts for portuguese language AES releases existed at some point.

5- Right now most of AES games are overpriced due rampant collectors market.

Opening a portuguese forum would be great since, more and more fans will join and make this scene even better.
