When I walk into Walmart or Best Buy and see Final Fantasy 7 copies on the shelves, it makes me sad and happy and sad at the same time. I am happy because this great game is still getting support. Sad because they didn't get a remake. Imagine the things they can do with the new technlogy they have. This game is really great, the best storyline I ever seen ....

Why remake 7? This game gets way too much hype. If anything they need to remake 8 into something worth playing.

The day they remake ff8 will be the day i walk into Square's main office with machine guns in hand ready for a fight.

My hate for FF8 simply knows no bounds.

Don't get me wrong. 8 and all the others are very good games. But 8 doesn't have much of a storyline. There is nothing wrong with introducing a new fighting system. No matter what you say my friend .. this game is still selling.

i think from a fan-base perspective, it would just be smarter to remake 7.

from a me perspective, i think it would be genius to remake 7. the game is so good it makes me cry. i dont even care if its loosely based on 7...doesn't even need to be a direct sequel.

Well now that i've vented my hate for FF8 i must say i would probably buy a remake of FF7. I truly enjoyed that game, it has some great moments and a truly epic quest. My favorite part was when you got to go into outer space, that was simply beautiful. In my opinion everything about FF7 was just so great, which is probably why i hate 8.

Why remake 7 or 8? They should remake FF3 (or 6 in japan) FF3 for the Super nes was way better than 7 or 8. Better storyline, better ending, better boss battle...now imagine that with modern graphics! Kefka was a real bad ass.

There's really no need to remake FF6, it's already that good. The only reason I brought up 8 is because that's the only FF I just can not stand at all, and would be more deserving if they could actually make it into a decent game.

In addition, imagine an orchestrated version of Dancing Mad, the final battle song. drool_2

I think its just too bad to be remade. Square needs to pretend they never made ff8 in the first place.

I cant stand 8...I've really tried to get into it, but that Junction and draw crap really annoyed me. I'd just love to see ff3 in modern graphics.

Nobody ever talks about FF9...how was that? I was too busy playing Skies of Arcadia when that came out.

FF9 is great, I love it. I actually got so into it that I beat it in 3 sittings (which is a big thing for me).

I don't know about 9 at all. We bought it when it came out but I quit playing it after a couple of hours. Looks nice but the damn this is just too "not final fantasy" style. Cutie shit .. and lame characters.

FF9 was pretty good. It was nothing spectacular but it had a decent story and likeable characters. I enjoyed playing it, its not a bad rpg by any means.

Did you play any Final Fantasy before 7?

I wouldn't say FF9 was cute of cutsie or anything like that. Sure at time it was goofy, but it was just a fun light hearted quest.

Yes I played all of them. But the reason I said 7 is because I like it the most. Also, it is more likely for them to make remakes of the older ones.

I may have to give ff9 a go then..seems like it's at least above average from what you guys are saying.

I'd love to see the Snes Secret of mana's remade with new graphics and online play.

Ya know what I want?

A NEW FINAL FANTASY. And Final Fantasy XI doesn't count (It shouldn't be 100% online. That's ridiculous)! Nor does Final Fantasy X-2 whatever the hell that is.

I really hope this trend of remaking, repackaging or sequeling (?) there old ones doesn't continue on into their next generation games for any longer. I mean, getting Final Fantasy I - VI with CGI intros and the like was cool and all, but Final Fantasy VII and on is fine and dandy how they are. Get to work on a new one, Square. NOW.

The reason Final Fantasy 9 was made like that is because that is Final Fantasy to the old-school fans. That was the style of the first 6. 7 changed it to techno-punk, and it keeps getting changed for each one since. 9 was a throwback to the good ol' days.

What about FF XII? They already started it.

8 was a great FF, junctioning was totally sweet, you could max your summons out so quick. Plus the pc version had the resolution bumped up a bit.
