the dissing of ps2.

i think that ps2 is a good system and all.dc is great.but after the dc is officially dead,what other console is there to bring great games like MGS2,tekken 4,soul calibur 2,silent hill 2,virtua fighter 4,CVS2(also on dc)and gran turismo 3? its ps2.i know that some people may not agree with me but its fine.don't get me wrong,i love my dc and i hate sony even though i am beginning to like ps2 since there are good games in the future and its revolutionary EMOTION ENGINE which is better than Xbox's cpu.my ps2 is collecting dust since march because i'm playing some of dc's finest games.the only game which i play on ps2 is tekken tag tournument.tekken 4 and soul calibur on ps2 is gonna be cool. <IMG SRC="smilies/glee.gif" border="0">

gran turismo 3 will be ps2 yes, as will vf4....so far....however xbox has all those others, and with better graphics most likely, without all the jagges....as for soul calibur and tekken, im sure they will be multiplatform, since they are porting tekken tag to GCN it wouldnt make sense not to do Tekken 4 or soul calibur as well....just goes to show some support to GCN from namco....

Totally agree with you on this!
DC is much better than PS2, at the moment!
But in another six months PS2 is gonna rock!
However, I heard that Sony have said that there is a problem with the laser units on PS2s and that if you use them to play DVDs too often, it burns out the laser!!!!
I dont know if this is true, but I was told by a friend of mine who owns a games shop, and he sells PS2s, so I doubt he'd want to spread rumours about it that might put people off buying them from him?
Anyway, one of the main reasons I bought a PS2 was to use the DVD option! So its a bit worrying. Anyone know anything about this???

The reason a lot of people (Myself included) don't like the PSX 2, is because there is no good games out at the moment. A problem with the original PSX is that it relied to much on big name sequels and a load of cheap to produce crap, which turned me off the console. I can see PSX 2 being the same way, which is why I have no interest in the machine, titles like MGS 2 could change my mind, but even that looks like just another sequel...... It'll do better than X-Box though.

Yeah, plus the only reason why they beat DC to death is because they had good advertising and propoganda...not because of better games. That's what annoys me about sony's machines....

I wouldnt stress your self over the PS2, wondering why it does so well. The majority of PS2 owners are mildly retarded, seemingly normal people who think that buying a PS2 is the be all end all. They seem to like the bad games and enjoy watching DVD's with a controller. So let the losers be.

Out of PS2 , X-box and GC. Im only going to get the GC on launch (ok i missed the PS2).
In the original list the top poster posted , did anyone else notice sequel after sequel after sequel. At least with nintendo they try to make an evolution with each generation leap, Sony whereas estroyers of all things imaginative.

As to X-box well it started off well but is fading already. Also having the GC released 3 days before at $100 cheaper isnt going to help it either.

I may only post on this board once a month now, but i had to pop in for this one.
PS2 is a piece of sh*t. Yeah the developers may stumble onto a few nice games , but inside and out , that system is pure crap. Sony screwed up big time and they know it.

I recently sold my PSX 2 after Bouncer was a big let down and the next big game to come to the US being MGS2, I decided it wasn't worth it. I never used the DVD player though, I heard it was really crappy. I'm sticking w/ my Neo Aes, Dreamcast and soon I'll by a GBA.

The only PoS2 games that have really caught my attention are Super Bust-A-Move and Gauntlet: Dark Legacy. Some have pretty good eye candy, but I do not know how they will play. Otherwise, the DC has more games I enjoy, even though it will soon RIP....

I think that when DC bites the bullet, Gamecube and GBA will be the only places to go when you want a good, playable game.... apart from Sega ports on X-Box and PSX 2 of course.....

The PS2 is capable of some awesome graphics/gameplay (3D of course)...
I say this because Zone of Enders was a really, really good, albeit short game. In fact, most all the PS2 games so far have been way too short. It seems like the developers are just not taking long enough on these games. You can finish many of them in 1-2 days.

But the thing is, like all systems, it's the games that make the system. Only time will tell us who will be successful in the long run.

But I saw the Xbox at E3 and I was not impressed.

The Gamecube, on the other hand looked really cool, and at $199 I'd take it over Xbox ANY day. And I can't stand the N64!

I have a PS2 and despite the fact that people are talking crap about the games, I still am going to enjoy those games regardless. To put it perfectly clear, I feal that eventually Sony is going to learn from the mistakes that it made now and beat the crap out of all the other consoles through better games. The only games that are damn good are Tekken Tag Tournament, Ridge Racer 5, Madden 2000, and Dynasty Warriors.

Mooky, Bouncer wasn't bad it was mediocre. The game looked nice and everything ,but you fought for 5 min and then there were 6 min of FMV after. Overall it wasn't bad,but it just didn't live up to the hype.

yeah, bouncer isnt much of a game....more like a movie....metal gear has more cut scenes in time then gameplay does itself, i dont look at it as such a great game, but a great movie...even if the stuff you could do while playing were great, and the fact that you can skip the cutscenes was nice....but having to go through all that talking sometimes gets annoying....

any good ps2 will be found else where, final fantasy = pc, MGS2=Xbox, Tekken Tag=GCN, which tekken series suck, the game moves way to slow....all and all the ps2 is just same name selling titles with jagges, even metal gear and final fantasy have them, as does ZoE...which was a mildly entertaining game....

ill have more fun with my GBA then i will a freakin ps2....what crap...
