In real life I run the weekly humor newsletter at my law school. We have a running gag about who our Dean is (our real Dean is very new, and very bald). So the theme has been making a different bald person every week. I've worked with online authorities on the subject, and as a reward for my work with them, they gave me this:

(see the top, Alex Johnson)

<a href="http://www.baldrus.com/manofyear.htm" target="_blank">http://www.baldrus.com/manofyear.htm</a>

Needless to say, the URL is going in the next issue!

Boo-yah!

Nothing bar, really. The most common reasons are more thematic:

- They are the highest authority is University (which is by nature anarchic -the professors scoff at some Deans even more than students), rebellion is always fun (particularly when lighthearted)

- Deans by their job (negotiating, meetings, alumni/donors, etc) are sometimes not very interative with the students -so they seem distant, aloof and are ripe for parody in their absense

- It's such an old cliche that people get a kick out of it when it starts.

- Our Dean got his law degree from UCLA. That's a big no-no to a Trojan like myself :)
