I don't know if it's just my local branch or what, but the staff at EB seem as thick as fuck. Heres some of the problems I've had....

MY QUESTION: Does Phantasy Star Online(PAL version) allow you to use your own ISP?

ANSWER: Whats an ISP?

After some explaining of what an internet serve provider is, they get me there techinal genius.

MY QUESTION: Could you tell me if I can use my own ISP with Phantasy Star Online?

ANSWER: Erm, I don't know. I think it's just SEGANET only, but I'm not sure.
Buy it and find out.

LOL The quality of the EB near you is heavily dependent on the manager of that store. The EB near me has had 2 great ones and that is why I keep going back. On the Dreamcast launch he was the only store opening at midnight, (with local news coverage), and he catered a truly great spread for everyone waiting around with giant subs, snacks, lots of cold drinks, ect........ Store stayed open till 4:00 a.m. & everybody got one. Much more memorable experience than the wait outside Best Buy and freeze (and too bad you didn't get one) PS2 launch.

They are dumb. Today I bought Gigawing for my DC. I took the game box off the shelf and handed it to the guy at the counter. He disappears into the stockroom with the box for 5 minutes, comes out and asks me "So you want this game, don't you?". Strange put true.
While I was there this guy asked another assistant about a certain chess game. He asked the assistant what was the difference between this years version and last years version. The assistants answer was "Well that one's newer".

A GameStop.Com store opened up locally, in an attempt to compete with my friend's privately owned game store. I went in to scope out the competition, but I need not have bothered. I asked about new and used games for the Saturn, and the individual behind the counter gave me a blank stare, then said, "You mean, like, for the car?"

EB sucks as does Funcoland. Bad customer service and not much knowledge of what they are selling.

Yeah. If you go into a car dealer, they know about cars. If you go into a Electrical equipment store, they know about TV's and stuff.
Is it to much to ask EB staff to know about games?

The EBs around me are pretty decent.
I could go on a rant about how the PSX2-launch games suck, and they could follow.
