Newer Game Gear Models - TV Tuner Question

On the newer models of the Sega Game Gear, the ones that are NOT compatible with the TV Tuner, well, what exactly makes them non-compatible? You can hear the sound fine, but the screen is just a solid white.

i think they're lacking something similar to what the genesis 3 was lacking that wouldn't allow it to run virtua racing... guess i just stated the obvious.

My gamegear tv tuner ISN'T broken, it's the system..

So which gamegears work with the tv tuner?

So I'm looking for a glass screened game gear...

The hunt continues. The things are so cheap I have half a mind to just buy a random 5 of them off ebay and see if I get lucky >_<

Not nessasarily, i bought a BUBBLE screen GG once, and the TV tuner worked fine. IMO though, the flat screen are the way to go, there not glass by the way, but there much better looking, smooth screen and guarenteed to work with THe TV Tuner, while somme bubble screens arent

Urghh this is so confusing.

Does anybody know where I can get a gamegear guaranteed to work w/ my tuner??

the newer GG model, and the majesco re-release don't have the metal screw port thing where you screwed in the tuner too, that's why it won't work.
