I'm thinking about adding these two to my library. Please let me know your thoughts.

I hear on Super G&G they fixed the slowdown that plagued the SuperNES version, is that true? How would you rate the individual conversions?

And the same for CG4. How is Commando, Gun.Smoke, and Mercs 2? Mercs 2 is 3 player I read... wow I gotta try that out... sounds like a blast!

Vol. 2: I had the Sega Saturn verison, and the resolution on Super GnG was not fixed, and horrible black boarders are placed on both sides of the screen, really kills the full screen effect that the original had. Though maintains the same framerate as the SNES verison. The plus side to this trilogy, you get perfect arcade ports of Ghouls N' Ghost and Ghosts N' Goblins. So give or take, it is a worthy trilogy.

I never got a chance to play Vol. 4, always wanted to, I was a die hard fan of Gunsmoke

Capcom Generations vol.2 is awsome on PS, no black borders, the slowdown is still there though.

I've got Capcom Generations 2 for the Saturn as well, good God those games are difficult for me. I haven't been able to clear any of them, even on the easy level. I gave up trying...

I have Capcom Generations 4 on my PSX: it has Commando, Gun Smoke and MERCS (not MERCS 2). It's sort of cool, but it was rather disappointing for me in gameplay terms, because since the arcade originals were vertical shooters, the game has the same kind of horrid black borders as Ikaruga DC has. Unless you can flip your TV and use it as a vertical monitor, I think the games are only good as a sort of relic, not really to be played with.

I agree as well. I have both for PSone and Cammando and Mercs kick old school ass.

Funny thing when I got Volume four and was playing Cammando I kept looking for all of the hidden underground bunkers that were in the NES version. I forgot that they were only in the home version and not the arcade.

And the PSX version of Volume 2 is full screen. I wonder why the Saturn version isn't. I know that Volume one had borders because 1942 was a scrolling shooter, like Cammando is.

Just wondering if PSX Capcom Generation 4 supports vibration or not. CG5 (Street Fighter II collection) does support vibration

none of the Capcom arcade games had vibration... Why implement it in the PSX ports?
