Just got it today
when you insert game and turn on GBA, you'll grant with cover art
Then intro is identical to arcade version (I like Sega CD one better and I dont' know why the Mayor Hagger doesn't use wireless phone just like in Sega CD one)

Girl fighters are in there. Poison wears bra instead of top tank in Sega CD
Of course, it's better than SNES version coz Capcom removes those girl fighters completely (expect US GBA version too)

Before you fight stage bosses, you'll have a short story mode before fighting. That's cool.

Rolling barrels are gone in most places due to GBA hardware limitation (?)

You get "red" blood when you use dagger or sword to kill people

Everything is arcade-perfect

You'll be surprise that this is GBA first generation game. Expect to see something jaw dropping in the future.
www.videogamedepot.com sells it for $44.99, $9 off NCS price.....dang..........:<

Got mine today also, here's my mini-review:

GREAT port, a must have for GBA owners if you liked Final Fight. It's not 'arcade' perfect because it's still missing little bits and pieces that you will notice missing if you were a Final Fight nut. The graphics are outstanding, nothing like this has been seen on a portable before. The music is similar, but not exact to that of the arcade, good sounds though.

All in all, very good. As Silent said, the GBA looks to have a great future for us 2d freaks. And remember, this is a 1st generation game, I cant wait to see more

Totally agree to outsider.

But if you use headphone, you'll hear stereo sound instead of mono one

Final Fight rocks!!!!
Too bad that US version has censorship, but price is much cheaper ($39)

I still like JPN version better......close to arcade

I think Final Fight One has some secrets once you finish the whole game.
I'll find out.

Best Final Fight home console translate will go to Sega CD, then GBA, SNES is the last (cough cough...missing Guy from player select and Industrial Level)....

Secrets:

Before you start the game, it has a screen showing the next secret if you beat up numbers of bad dudes...(I saw it something like 50 or 180.....I forgot and I'm too lazy to look it back)

If you beat the game, you should have extra options like change number of lives, stage selection and two additional players.

That's what I know. Who are the two additional players? You have to find out

Two funny things:

If you turn off your GBA at any time, it'll save your progress when you turn it back on next time

When I saw the end credit, the arcade producer is NIN. That's the dude in original Street Fighter II. I think he left Capcom when Street Fighter II Turbo came out.
Wonder what other projects had he done?

Forgotten Worlds is definitely another one. Unless someone has beaten the default top score it will show "NIN 10000". In the credits, "Nin-Nin" is listed.

FW would be a good choice for GBA- the 2 analog triggers could rotate your gun, while the A or B button could shoot.

I've also got a hunch that Nin-Nin worked on Magic Sword.

NIN's real name is Akira Nishitani, and he founded the company "Arika".

Thanks!!!
Excellent info to share with us.

NIN (Akira Nishitani) establishes Arika (just scramble his first name....funny) and he's indeed an excellent producer/planner.

I wish Capcom can port more 2D games like Warrior of Fate, Alien vs Preditor and so forth and so on to GBA....

How about shooters? Varth, 19XX, and others....

I just got my Milky Blue GBA today w/ a copy of Final Fight One. It is sweet, I somehow managed to unlock Guy's Zero costume and I'm trying to find Cody's. If you look in the manual you can see the true cover to the Sega CD version. If you look Andor's head is busted open and their a pool of blood. Also, Cody's wrist tape is dripping blood and it stains the ground w/ little dropplets.

Everyone go out and play the superior Sega CD version with your friend/mom/priest/homeless uncle. You won't regret it!

Andore with a busted open head? Cool.

I'm too lazy to dig out my Sega CD and play FF. That's the main reason I got GBA version

Hmmm.. maybe I will get the import FF One. I have heard there is no territorial lockout on the GBA for sure (printed in the newest EGM).

So is it Capcom censoring the game, or Nintendo demanding changes?

I too received my GBA and FF1. Overall the port is great. The only difference I really noticed was that there doesn't seem to be as many weapons scattered about as there were in the arcade. I remember getting swords and stuff on the first stage in the arcade but on GBA, I think the most you get on the first stage is a knife. Later on you seem to get more, but that is just one of the things that stuck out to me. I still recommend it though.

I don't think we can pick up beer and other things in GBA version.

Well, it's good version though

Dog, GBA console has no terrotory-lock so it's pretty safe to get import at no risk.
