Here is my response...

If someone ever <insert felony here> with me, my lover, my family, my Godchild, my brother whatever it may be...I WILL FUCKING MURDER THAT PERSON <IMG SRC="smilies/veryangry.gif" border="0">

If I happen to die while defending any of the above then that is "what is worth dying for"...

HW:
Guess I dont think in that pattern.
I will say this, if it came to a choice between myself & someone i cared about.
Its not even a contest, I would gladly sac myself.
Nothing noble or brave bout that for me.
It would just be an end to my pain.

I enjoy life. I enjoy helping people.
But Ive come so close to death enough
times that i do not fear it.
Pain keeps you sharp, but it also makes you harsh.
Unfotunatly, Its when pain is with you every day, you wont miss life the same way.
So id trade mine, if it saved someone else.

What you are willing to die for is based on perspective. For one such as myself, I don't have much to live for. WAIT! Before you criticize me, I find that I don't have much to die for, either...
I think the question to ask yourself before asking this question is, 'What is your purpose in this world?' Then you decide whether you beleive that purpose is acceptable for you to live with.
Me, as my name suggests, I'm more of a ronin who basically drifts through life. If I have a reason to fight, however, be it for friends or whatever, I'll fight with everything I've got.
If you want a list...
to die for:
1) honor
2) [as someone pointed out before] the greater good.
3) to defend the weak/helpless
that's about it. I'd say love, but I don't love. At least not yet.
to live for:
1) self preservation
2) KoF
3) perpetual contentmet
4) Zen

I'm you guys are tired of my ramblings, but bear with me a little longer. I understand the question but my question to 'hidden' is why ask? You must have a reason, but this is a deeply soul searching question. You really need to ask yourself, 'What is my self worth, and is that worth dying for?' When you answer that, the answers you find worth living/dying for come more easily and are pre-thought out.

Thank You.

Your cause and beliefs,my loved ones, animals that are helpless(especially kittens)

But I would never die for:annoying kids(anyone here read Transmetropolitan by Warren Ellis???),idiots that are just asking for trouble or criminals convicted of a really awful crime

NEORASA:so you dont know anything worth dying for?

I didn't say THAT. Just that overall the things I want to live for outweigh the things I would die for. The things I value the most are what I live for, I try to appreciate, value, and care for them every second of my life. In this way the satisfaction I get from said things is stronger, thereby making ME stronger from a spiritual, emotional, and pshycological standpoint, augmenting my 'soul' if you will to the point where I'm don't worry or feel for said things JUST when they are in jeopordy. Because of this I'm aware of them enough that there is no possible situation where I would have to sacrifice my life for any of them. I'm being ultra-vague about what said things are but I think you got my point. <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

Still, if I could get a guarantee that I could jam with Bon Scott in heaven, I'd commit suicide in a heartbeat! <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

Maybe I should have made it more clear to you...

Assults, rapes, shoots, stabs, ECT...

Have an open mind...

The only things that spring to mind are "what if" situations that stand a pretty small chance of happening at the moment anyway.

*Disclaimer* The following is not to be misconstrued as me preaching my religious beliefs...

I know one thing I've talked with some friends about before, and it's the end of the world as we know it. If you're a Christian, there's the whole idea of the end of society and the persecution of Christians that gets taught to you. The whole "take the mark of the beast or die" thing, and I've asked them if you would in fact sacrifice yourself on your religious beliefs alone. One friend, who is a minister at The Church of Jesus Christ, said "Whether or not I beleived in God? Sure. Whether or not Jesus is the son of God? No." This shocked the hell outta' me, especially since it became obvious that he doesn't really believe what he preaches every Sunday. As for me, and this isn't macho bravado bullshit talk here, I would die for my belief in Christ. No lie, and I've thought a long time about it too. Who knows? I may see the end sometime in my life, it may come down to something like that...

Sorry for the long winded reply...

I'd die to see my family be tortured slowly then get killed. I'd die for that.
Does that make sense? Hmm....nope.
I would sacrifice myself to kill my family slowly, there.
