It sounds good in theory until you see the tiny screen shots at the bottom. Ill let them speak for themselves but I must say they are VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY bad.

Screw it ill just post them.

I dont know.... kind of looks neat to me. I like the Dragon Ball series and these graphics remind me of the cartoon show so I guess thats pretty cool. If they keep the japanese voices then I'll be more then happy to buy it. If they swap the voices with crap underpaid actors then I'll buy it then piss on it.

Oh and I might mention this is PS2 ONLY. The future DBZ games for GC are RPG's.

Can't be any worse than the Dragon Ball GT fighting game for the PSX, I would think.

Of course, hopefully DB fanboys won't jack the price on this "collectable" like they did for the trash that is DB GT.

Will they ever learn? 3D and fighting DBZ games just doesn't get along together. The only good 3D DBZ game is the DBZ Legends for Saturn and PSX.

Why don't they make it a 2D fighting game anyway? Coz it's going to the PS2?

It may look like crap but at least it will play good.

I couldn't hold that in, that game will suck.

I initially skimmed through this post and figured those pics were from DB:GT, which I never played (not that I had any inclination to... ;) )

Those pics are so crap-tastic they're funny. I mean, I seriously think the original VF is the only 3D fighting game I've seen with worse graphics than that pile of dung.

But then again, it does take "full advantage" of the PS2 graphic capabilities... <img src="graemlins/multi.gif" border="0" alt="[Multi Color Bouncey]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[LOL]" />

dbz is dumb. and as a game i'd say that's just plain crap. i thought it was for the psx, but i know the ps2 can do better than that.

i enjoyed the dbz gt game when it first came out
i wasnt even a big fan. it was just fun.
the meteor smashes were fun to pull off.
and if you knew the supers. most of them being
2x360s or something then you could beat anyone like a drum.
it was a neat idea. like psychic force without
as much freedom.
plus the intro was cool.
it was hella better than all the other dbz games
for some reasons this game looks just like the
ps version that came out years ago.
its funny because most people will tell you
that dbz, sailor moon, and pokemon cannot be found
at all in japan.
period.
funny stuff.

I like DBZ( the jpn version of course)and I like fighting games, but this looks really sad. I'm glad to see my fav character Yamucha made it into the game, but WTF? His hair isn't spiked up like when the encounter the androids, it's the stupid bowl cut when they are just waiting for the androids to arrive. Why can't they just make the game 2-D include all the characters they planned on and make the engine like Hyper Dimension?

DBZ, the animation, is like shitty unwipe asshole. It stinks and nobody wants to look at it.

As for the games, they suck too BUT, they could be cool (not like the animation, which is a lost cause). I'm not going to pretend I know ANYTHING about DBZ, because I don't know anything, but I think the premise is kind of like Power Stone, where they become some sort of super-human replicas of their normal self if they collect Dragon Ballz or some shit. Plus they get to fly around, which is cool. Like someone else said, a DBZ game with Smash Brothers mechanics would kick ass.

Too bad the caracters in the anime look like crap. I mean, who the hell designed them anyway? Some 3rd grader?

In fact, someone just steal the Smash Brothers engine, the DBZ ability to morph and fly around then make their own damn game with some talented artists.

As for the game being talked about in this thread, it makes me laugh heartily.

I think the game looks ok, but I'm not that big of a graphics whore.

Akira Toriyama created the DragonBall manga series (artist/writer). He's also the character designer for Dragon Warrior/Quest, Chrono Trigger, & Tobal #1.

btw, some of the earlier DBZ games made for the Megadrive/SuperFamicam are really good.

Dude, if you guys knew me IRL you'd know I'm a huge DBZ freak. However you're right DK, the stuff in the US is utter crap. I hate how it's for little kids now, and the US voices and stories have been dumbed down to accomodate this.

The GFX look like shit, and the game may probably play like shit. I probably will buy the damn thing, just because I love DBZ so much, but I know it will have the ASS US voices, not the Jap ones.

Good god, some one save us real DBZ fans..

Peace
