This message goes out to anyone who has beaten dinamite rave for DDR : Konamix. "You are a freak of nature."
Seriously though, has anyone noticed how ungodly hard some of these songs are? I beat the tutorial with relative ease but the real game is kicking my ass.

I haven't tried Konamix yet, becuase I'm too lazy to modify my dance pad so it doesn't slide. However, on 5th Mix Japanese in the arcades the hardest song I can beat is the fastest Hero mix on Maniac.

Dynamite Rave? what level, Maniac? It's not that bad. A lot of it follows the pattern of three 1/8 arrows, then three 1/16's in a row. if you're talking about Basic though... well... :)

Ever since I started playing Pump it Up more, I've come to the conclusion that there aren't many REALLY hard songs in DDR. DDR is still more fun though...

Not on Single, no. I've full-comboed it on Maniac. :D Double Maniac is pretty tough though, yes. A lot of stuff on Double is still tough for me. Not so much on Single though...

That is freakish. I have found the problem I beleive. Im 6' 2" and have gangly legs. Im actually quick (i play goalie in lacrosse) but I seem to lose my base alot and overstep the arrows. Does anyone have any tips for how to stay in the center? I just got it yesterday and im still having trouble with 4 foot and 5 foot songs on regular.

I want to see some videos of people doing the hardest songs on maniac. Anyone have a link? I'm up for a laugh.

As for the link , try www.bemanix.com . Not too many technical movies, but a lot of freestyle...

The only thing DDR is good for is to laugh at the people doing it.

If some of you don't like DDR, then why the fuck are you posting in this thread? Shut the fuck up please. Thank you.

Anyway, here's a technical video of two guys passing MAX300 on DDRMAX, the second-fastest song in the series (Maxx Unlimited on MAX2 hits 320 BPM in some parts)

Are there anyone in your area that play this game with an actual dance style?

there's one couple in my arcade back home that actually played this game like they was dancing for real, goddamn, that was cool!

btw, they're japanese, which explains why they'ew so good...

Umm, well I sucked it up pretty bad when I first started out too. I wanted to pass End of the Century on Basic, even though I didn't know that it wasn't quite the best newbie song to start out with... I didn't know much about the foot ratings (and arcade DDR USA hides the difficulties until you actually pick a song, which is gay). You're trying to pass Dynamite Rave, which is 5-foot... that's not a good song to try until you've got some lower-rated stuff under your belt.

There's really no way of getting good fast, it takes a lot of time and practice. One problem everyone has when they start out is trying to use their right foot for everything, and only their left foot for the L arrow... and that's not good, you need to be able to hit any arrow with either foot. Alternating feet for each successive arrow is much more beneficial in the long run compared to "sliding" your foot to the next arrow and using the same foot twice.

And for God's sake, don't return your feet to the center after every arrow, that's another big mistake. :) (and unfortunately, the Lesson Mode shows the feet doing this...)

I gotcha man. Its just that the 1, 2 and 3 footers are easy but the 4 and 5 footers are like a quantum leap. I have gotten better since I posted this thread so Ill just keep on trying. Thanks for the help...and the wacky ass movies.

DDR is not about memorizing patterns at all. Once you get into it , you can simply do the songs by the beat of the song. Dynamite rave is one of my favorite songs to do on maniac. Afronova follows it. Just takes a few weeks to be really quick.

Konamix is OK but it sure is missing alot. Butterfly, Boom Boom Dollar, and Dam dariram all are absent. The only songs i really enjoy on Konamix are B4U and Brilliant 2d.

That's why I luv imports ;)

Konamix is okay, I think the best thing about it is that they put in some of the obscure Beatmania Club Mix songs. I like R3, Salamander Beat Crush Mix, Diving Money, The Earth Light... but Patsenner and Perfect Free are terrible.

I wish they had used the 5th Mix engine for Konamix though, I HATE the 4th Mix engine. That makes three home versions they've used that shitty interface on... Konamix and the Japanese 4th and Extra Mix...
