Check this out. My dad, 54 Yrs. old, is retired from a military/civilian post and is a Vietnam Vet. This lucky bastard is RETIRED.

Now here's the part that gets me... my brother has an X-Box and Halo (couple of other games too, but Halo is the important one). My dad sits around almost ALL day playing HALO! My brother got the system at launch and my Dad has played the game every day (just about) since mid-December. He has won the game on every difficulty... too many times to count. He lpayed the easiest level once, but that proved to be... well, too easy.

If we play muliplayer, he fucks me up. If we play multiplayer with my brother and him, they both fuck me up, but my brother just kicks everyone's ass.

Anyone else know someone like my father?

Remember that old NES game "Freedom Force"? Well my Dad has always been a huge gun fanatic. He came close to being drafted before I was born, but I don't think he actually served....anyway, he constantly played "Freedom Force", and sometimes "Gotcha" all day long. It made me fuckin sick....being nine years old and having your Father hog your NES. <img src="graemlins/veryangry.gif" border="0" alt="[Very Angry]" />

Sorry to hear that, Kim_Kaphwan. My dad isn't an asshole though (at least, noone has told me he is and I don't think he is).

My dad used to work 3rd shift at one of his jobs. He would take the NES with him and map Zelda (with a very cool, but disturbing PERFECT layout) and taek Dragon Warrior and level up characters for us. It was crazy but cool.

My said says he hasn't played a video game since college when he would play Pac-Man at the laundry mat... maybe it's just me but that is SAD.

My dad don't like video games at all. He has tried several times to watch me playing and to understand the games, but he only kept watching me more that 15 minutes once.
Guess which game I was playing?

...

Silent Hill 1!!!

The closest my Dad ever got to playing video games was Duck Hunt on the NES. He quickly became pissed at the dog and refused to play anymore because he couldn't shoot that "sumbitch".

I used to try to get my dad to play games, he would only watch me play Sonic occasionally. Now he just tells me that I'm too old for games. To everybody's Dad... YOU'RE NEVER TOO OLD FOR GAMES!!!

My dad is an asshole and havent seen him in years, but damn, he loved Galactic Pinball on my Virtual Boy. He played the game more than I did. Him and my mom were also big Tetris fans back in the day too.
