Just wanting to know what everyone thinks of Wind Waker (and pleeeeease only those who've actually played it). I thought it was a bit more "japanese" than Ocarina of Time in the graphics, etc. A lot of old themes are kind of remixed (hookshot/grappling hook; deku tree; Epona/the boat) but overall it's very enjoyable. The comedic parts are a great touch, such as when Link (or whatever the kid's name is) is launched onto the island. The strangest thing is, the island where you sneak around under the searchlights reminds me a lot of a PS2 game called Thievus Racoonus. In fact a lot of the elements are strikingly similar.

same here. It's a lot tougher than OoT. And less gay than everyone says. I mean, I've gotten to the point I have to meet Juban, and there's no scenes like a Dancing Goron king, or Talon running with his arms flailing out of the Hyrule castle just to catch up with Malon.

So it seems to be a bit more serious and dark than I expected, and the art is really well done.

I haven't had any issues with the camera work really, except 2 rooms. One being inside this tree in the forbidden forest, and the other was inside one of the houses in Windfall City. Whatever. Not a big deal. I have a boomerang and a bag of bombs. I'm set.

I'm loving it, anyone love the original sound effects and music :) Doesn't the game seem vast with the ocean traveling? I'm afraid I'm missing alot of secrets and areas in this

I have a bunch of treasure maps and not much clue as to how I should use them. I figure I gotta use the grappling hook to retrieve the sunken treasure, but whatever.

I also found the fire island and the ice island, but I don't have the magic to get in them.

Did I mention this game is more difficult than OoT?

There are pirate ships and sea towers from which goblins fire cannons at you. The attitude reminds a little of Skies of Arcadia. Tough to explain. Less battles but more puzzles. The current leg of the game is totally like flying in Valua from SoA...

I got my copy and I've played for quite a few hours. Pretty much everything I expected, although I must say the whole comedic aspect to the game makes you understand the overall style (I still would have preferred the more serious one).

Still like I said I knew the gameplay was going to be great, it feels like Ocarina of Time on crack. They really did take a LOT from that game and used it in this one. The music, and sound effects especially.

For all my hatred of the style and what they gave us instead of what they showed before the one thing I hoped happened did. The gameplay is good enough that I forget how much I hate the style (well except when he conducts the wind, that's more queer than Big Gay Al :p ).

Still its fun shit to play.

Peace

It's got me hooked. I haven't played a game in such long strides in I don't remember how long. It's just such a huge game and after a while you can just go where ever the fuck you want, even if you can't do anything in certain areas due to lack of abilities or items. I love just exploring the world. And most of the artwork is beautiful IMO. Very simplistic in a lot of places, yet highly stylized. Some of it kind of reminds me of Samurai Jack, especially the smoke clouds when you kill enemies.

One thing I don't like is the amount of rupees you come across compared to the amount you can carry. I know you can expand your wallet, but I'm not at that point yet. Sadly, all the treasure I've pulled up from the ocean is just rupees. Wish there were more unique items you could get. Then again, I have no need to spend much thus far.

Other then that (so far), this game is tops.

Played it constantly until I finally beat it last night. The end battle is the coolest in Zelda history. I'm still missing two Treasure Maps I can't find anywhere. I'm going to have to go to GameFaqs or something.

Dude. I'm not even very far in this game and I already think this is one of the best games I have ever played. Totally blows OOT in almost every aspect. Not sure if I'm in quite as much awe as I was when I first play link to the past though...

I couldnt' stop! I really, really wanted to see the end boss, so I just decided to save some of the extras for after. I'm not even going to attempt to try and do that figurine mini-game, though. I missed some heart pieces here and there I still have to go and get (I'm hoping some of them will come from those treasure maps). I need to do that bartering thing to get the magic shield, which may or may not even exist (I'm not sure). So, I still have a lot more playing to do.

So far I'm loving it, but I'm only as far as the forest part, and I'm wishing for a Bomb Bag. and the ability to go wherever I want. I freakin' love the atmosphere of the gamem several highpoints bieng the first time I got the wind behind me, and another bieng a storm rising up at nightm in fact night on the sea in general. Once I stopped, looked straight up in the sky and saw a flock of birds travelling the other way, absolutely cool!

I played it at my friend's house for like 4 hours. It's still fun to make fun of it, but I've got a respect for the way that it plays. and it looks like fresh cell vinyl(cartoon ink) plays damn good too. Time for me to get a gc. this and f-zero change my mind.
