I was interested in this for a long while, when it had been announced for Cube and PS2, seems the Cube version just kind of feel into nothingness like the PS2 Skies of Arcadia did. A few questions, any kind of fees to play online? does it have good offline modes? BBA and Modem support, or just BBA? Hows lag?

I picked it up too. But I can't get broadband yet ;_;

Game visuals are cool but it would have looked a lot better on the Box or the Cube I think.

Overall plays well and the single player game has some fun eliments to it.

Overall I would say 8/10 just cuz cel shade rox

I wonder if this game Supports the Logitech force Feedback Steering Wheel.

I have the online Adapter, not set up.
I have a cable modem..

If this game supports the Steerng wheel then I'd buy it set up and race you..
That would be fun..

Answers: No fees to play online (Shocking since sega supports the online feature)
I have played at least like 30 mins of it, and it is great, just customizing your car, changing color etc. This game on the front of the box even says BBA only =p so that you can have fast online play.. I went home and didn't even get online cus they were working on it.

Yes it does support the force feed back wheel. In the manual it shows you the set up and what not.

Wait it came out in America? This game is getting no fucking coverage. Can you customize decals on your car, a la Rage Racer? I used to always have a big fucking Neo logo on the hood!

That was the deciding factor for my friend buying a wheel for his PS2. With this and GT3 it'll be worth owning.

Yes you can, cus I was thinking of doing that..
There is also a fucking team edit mode where you can make your own team. We could get together and make a Neogeo team, and race others as if we were a clan.. If you wanted just email me when you get the game and I can help make logos and stuff. =p

THE GAME OWNS!!

Which Neo logo? The circle one? Or just the text NEO-GEO? Did you have to draw it with the controller?

I almost bought this game tonight, but I'm thinking of renting it first because I hear good and bad (but you usually can't believe either until you try it out for yourself). My biggest concern is the racing. Is it like Ridge Racer. Can you go full speed and then do some sort of power steer while staying on the track and just whip around the corner or is is a screech fest making you go all over the road. I'm so freaking close, I want this to be awesome because Capcom knows how to make those games.

Well, umm... No I couldn't do it cus I tried lastnight online, and after I hit the corner, i was pasted...>.> >.>
It is like Gt3 in a sense that you have to drive almost correctly..Also the game is really really fun online, you can race other guys(who picks the Viper Gts, or a car called Orochi) and for me I lose... I am getting alot better, cus I am customizing my own car.. To make matters worse if you have a gameshark(which I do not) You could put cheats in and get everything so that you can make you car the fastest... then put it online( Which I think is cheap...)

CRAP! I really wanted to get this game from these reviews, all the way up till this point.

WTF!?!? Why would you do this? To impress people with the fact that you can cheat? People who you will NEVER see or meet in real life. What a FUCKIN' looser!

Sorry I will not be getting this game.

So how hard was it to draw the Neo logo with the controller? :D

And also can custom paint jobs be used online? Do other people see them? That would be pretty bandwidth intensive I would think, having to download all those custom paint jobs every race. eek!

I hope you know that I do not have a gameshark and will not cheat on the game I just simply stated what you could do with that, I have a car called Elegance.. and I think the guys are cheating already man, cus it seems in every race i get in the muther fuckers can speed off without a second of the game starting... Kinda pisses me off...

OK, I think I'm pretty qualified to answer this since I'm the REAL RIDGE RACER! OOOOOOOOOOOOH!

Seriously, don't get Auto Modellista and expect it to play like RR. Powersliding RR style in this game will bring you to a screeching halt.
This game is much more about finding the appropriate line to hit when slicing through curves and 'pre-planning' your moves. That said, I still found the controls to be very responsive, you just have to give it some time because it has a VERY different feel from RR.
It's much more forgiving than the first time you try Gran Turismo though. I still can't play that shit.

Looking forward to buying AM soon.
