I picked up Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc the other day, because I'm a platforming bitch...but I dont know, It's ok. Everyone raves about Raymans level design, but theres nothing epic about this game...It's getting better reviews than Vexx did, and it doesnt deserve them. Don't get me wrong, Rayman 3 is a very pretty game, but there hasnt been any gameplay segments that made me say "holy shit"? Character design is ok, but its so fucking random, the whole Rayman world is random. Plus its not one giant world, its level based, which is a big step backwards from everything else, and why the hell is Rayman's jump so floaty? He has no weight to him, I dont like that. Opinions?

I admit that I haven't touched a Rayman game since the first.

The amount and sheer detail of the first game's 2D graphics were simply breathtaking, even if the game had little in innovation. Ever since the series went 3D, it just became anothe 3D platformer to me.

I just love the first one. If anyone has a Saturn version for sale, LET ME KNOW!

I liked Rayman #1, but the others just didn't do it for me. Strangely enough I always liked that cheesy game series *James Pond* with the fish dude.

Rayman 2 for the dreamcast was one of the best platformers I have ever played, and easily the best platformer I've played since Super Mario World.

You want epic? Play this game. The story/look of the third game doesn't impress me, plus the characters actually talk? WTF?

IF you want to see why Rayman 3 was so hyped, you just need to play the second one (DC Preferably).
You'll understand by the end of the first couple of levels :)

The first RayMan was the very first I bought and kept for my PlayStation because it was a bargain at 12 bucks at FuncoLand or something. I had heard nothing about it save for that it was the single best game on the Jaguar and had amazing cartoon-style graphics. I played it for a couple of hours and was blown away.

My single favorite part is when you meet up with the fly boss near the beginning, kick his ass, then when you are about to put on the finishing blow...he starts crying, and you befriend him! When does that ever happen in a video game?

I heard that Rayman 3-D was great but never got too interested. I was never able to get into the 3-D graphics - I felt it took too much away from the original's feel.

Yeah, I know. Rayman 2 certainly is epic, that why I had some concerns about this one. I've been playing more into it, and the level design and platforming just keep getting better and better, so maybe I was too quick to judge...I'll post more when I get further along.

I have probably beat the first rayman about 3 times, and I love that game. I dont remember the last time that a 2D platformer challanged me the way that some levels do. I never really liked any of the 3D platformeres so I tend to stay away from them.

The music in the first Rayman was damn good. The sound was also awesome. Rayman is one of the best games ever made.
