Just wondering if any in here know of good material that would work as a "niche" game? I personally have always wanted to make (I'm still looking for talanted ppl) a 2-D/faux 3-D SHUMP based on the *Wingman* aviator-post nuke series by Mack Maloney. I figure if it could be done by meshing together elements of RPG with cut scenes, taking missions, an alternating storyline, and then having the actual levels horizontal like Area 88 (UN Squadron), where you could also play as the Air Pirates, or aspiring powers in New Order America... this would rock. Get Vince Dicola to do the soundtrack, make everything Hi-Res Sprites and BAAAAAAAM!!!!! Most I run into who are fans of aircraft and what not have never heard of this book series nor read it, but while it's a bit dated and some things are obviously wrong, with the Author himself overseeing a project like that and it could work. The stories could make an excellent backdrop for a SHUMP/Adventure. Of course if this got made by either me and the still forming GGLF (Guerilla Gamers Liberation Front) or by some other company it's prolly be done in 3-D only oh_no
Then there's stuff like OUT OF THE ASHES, another post nuke scenario just ripe for a video game... hell why not a Remo Williams/The Destroyer video game (that one would have to be 3-D)
So what are your choices? Just curious.
