I can't wait to get but it's sold out everywhere.....:<

SS, I am definately a Robotech/macross fan. I love it! I think I am gonna go try and find the dvd set sometime today.

I have almost all of the original eps 37 [so far] of em (the ones that came out thanks to fhe), along with Macross the movie, Macross plus, Macross 2, and some of Macross 7... I think that's all I could be missing some.

I also have the arcade pcbs of Macross & Macross Plus.

I don't have the movie... only the 4 part series. The series was great though.

Anyone living near Fiesta Mall in phoenix Az can find a wealth of rentable anime at Tower Records. (That is if they don't close down to bankruptcy.)

I love Macross and hate Robotech.Carl blended in other animes and changed the story to try and make them match.Never been a big fan of anime thats released here in the US.No show is ever kept complete sadly.Macross DVD set will be out soon its the whole macross series subbed on dvd.

I'm fan of Macross as well.
My favorite series are "Ai Oboeteimaska!"
("Do you remember the love" something like this in English.)
Hikaru and Minmei (the shinger) is my favorate characters.

Macross plus is also good.
It has good quality 3d animation, but I think the story is not as good as above one..

BIG Macross/Robotech fan here. My girlfriend and I were just at Suncoast and we saw the 3DVD set...I told her to get it for me for Christmas, but it'll probably be gone by then...

The first Robotech boxed set discussed above in this thread is the cartoon that you know and love, and is made by splicing 3 different animes and editing the plotlines here and there. Macross is the anime used for the first part of Robotech; the boxed set to be released by Animeigo will be 9-12 DVD's, $250 at the most, and will be completely restored. There is no English dub for Macross and none will be created, so it can be watched in Japanese with English subtitles only.

To order or not to order? I am still researching this, some people have seen both and still like Robotech better. If you look at the restoration examples on the Animeigo site, though, you can see the amount of work being done and the quality to expect. Also Animeigo is a strange site because they will sell boxed sets only through preorder, then sell single DVD's afterwards.
