I used to be a huge MK fan back in the day but after MK3 was made I started to ignore the whole series. Especially after MK: Annihilation I wanted to totally throw away the idea that MK used to be good. After some time I heard that MK5 is coming back and after everything I've seen, In my judgement I think its going to be a big hit. What about you guys? I know theres some MK fans out there on this board so come here and tell what you think.

I was a huge MK fan, I used to play MK 2 for hours on end at my local pizza shop. Same thing with MK 3, then MK 4 came around and I gave up on the series after that crap fest.

I'll give MK5 a chance, but my expectations aren't too high.

Everything looks good so far. I rocked 1 and 2, and was one of the few who took 3 seriously. MK4 got too repetitive too quickly, but it was nice to see the series get back to its roots in terms of story and atmosphere. The martial arts styles can only help 5, but I sure hope that there's an option to make the style name not show up on the bottom of the screen, that looks lame. ;)

Mortal Kombat was a good game back then especially Mortal Kombat 2. I did like MK4 especially Tanya who is my favorite. I'm looking forward on MK5: Deadly Alliance.

I'm really looking forward to MK5. If the fighting system is as good as I hope it is, its gonna rock. 3 fighting styles for each character that you can switch on the fly, if it works its gonna be sweet. Plus the new art looks great, I'm looking forward to mastering Blind Kensin.

The cool thing about it is that Boon, the guy who makes the MK games didnt scrap the original trademark moves like Sub-Zero's freeze or Scorpion's spear. I think this game is totally rock but I have my doubts. Hopefully MK will come back and take the spot light away from losers like capcom or something.

I played this game at E3. Four matches against some stranger. As far as I know, we were both newbies at it. He whooped my ass the first time. I didnt get a hit off. The next time, I destroyed him. And the next time, he got another perfect. This went back and forth...and I noticed the more i tried to figure out moves...the more he was able to slaughter me with basics. In any case...it was STILL a lot of fun! Unlike MK3, 4, etc., this game made me want to keep playing just for kicks.

Btw, it was the xbox version.

peace,
