I played it for 1 hr. 10 min. on Tuesday, and I'm already at 34%. It's too early to make a conclusion yet, but for me it has yet to top CotM. The graphics are better (and much easier to see), but as someone else stated in another thread - the music seems to be compressed more than it was in CotM, and that is a big issue for me.

The game is easy so far. So far I have been able to run through it, although I have used a few potions. The second boss I fought (a huge Knight with sword) was a joke, but then again this is the Japanese version. Perhaps the US version will be more difficult.

I like the "Encyclopedia" feature, as I had hoped CotM would have had something similar to the enemy list from SotN. I also like the spells, although I have only ice so far.

I'm still waiting for my new 2D consol version of Castlevania, I guess I'll be waiting for a little while longer.

I was about to say "It's already out." But I guess it must be the imports you guys are playing. I don't want a game like that as an import. I like to know what the story line is. Like Megaman Zero.

I agree about the music. I'ts a HUGE issue for me, especially being a music teacher. THe composition is good, but the instrumentation is very, very 8-bit in quality. A big let-down after COTM's music and instrumentation. Still, I love the game (87% right now), and still enjoy it.

Managed to finish it after 14 hours of gameplay.

Its a great game, but lacks in comparison to COTM in terms of music (Which had to be decreased in quality due to the massive increase in graphic power.)

Too bad mind, but im sure if there will be another GBA Castlevania they will find the medium needed to create an awesome title.

Yes. Did you know that there is going to be a soundtrack release for these two games? Both games on one soundtrack. I can't wait for that.

Yep! Hey, check out my dissertation on the music of castlevania at:

<a href="http://www.classicgaming.com/castlevania" target="_blank">www.classicgaming.com/castlevania</a>

It's under multimedia, and is called "Music for a tragic prince"

Let me know what you think!
