Better Game Company? Sega or Nintendo?

SEGA, especially with the way Nintendo has been going down the drain lately with "new innovations" and stupid rehashes of the same games over and over again. Oh yeah, and fuck flood control up the ass... really hard!

Even though I like Nintendo a lot, I have to go with Sega instead. It seems like almost every game they make is very innovative. Especially on the DC where they had some of Sega's most innovative games like Jet Grind Radio and Shenmue. Even though Nintendo does make good games, they are mostly rehashes of older games. Do we really need another Zelda game?

On a side note, I would love to play Metroid Prime though.

Nintendo by a mile. Rehash or not, those games they drop are fuckin awesome. They can rerelease the same games until I drop dead, and I wouldn't care. :p

See, you guys are true gamers. I have been saying it for years. Sega = Innovation.

Super Monkey ball

crazy taxi
samba d amigo
Get bass

All great, new genre titles.
Plus with games like sonic, shinobi and Nights, how can you go wrong?

Sega for Innovations and arcade feel

Nintendo for QUALITY new rehashes

SNK for everything

Konami ?? Not like old times ( Axelays's ... )

Capcom ? becoming too much 3D for my liking

Anything else ? YES, if they just can impress me. ;)

I am only put some other 3rd parties companies because Sega and Nintendo were supporting them, and in the 16-bit era, They were a mojor help to boost Nintendo's and Sega's sales.

For home consoles, Nintendo. Sonic is cool, but nothing can dethrone the almighty Mario. Nintendo's got the Mario series, the Zelda series, the Pokemon series (love it or hate it, it got REALLY popular), F-Zero (Ok, Ok, maybe this can't touch Daytona, but it's still cool.) Mario Kart, Mario Tennis/etc...
For arcades, definitely Sega, cuz' they have all those sweet 3-monitor Naomi games (that flight sim game is dominant), the Star Wars Trilogy game, countless great racing games, and of course, sweet fighters.

Nintendo. Mario 64 Zelda 64, absolute classics. When Nintendo makes a classic it stays classic.

So I say it's a draw!

Tough discussion!!!

Well Nintendo has come a long way from love hotels by the hour (read Game Over!) to the most family friendly (EWW!) SW company on the planet!!
BUT!
if anybody here's ever been a victum of SEGA marketing. You know what SEGA REALLY stands for:
Screw
Every
Gamer
Alive

They almost redemed themselves with the DC, BUT coitious interuptus! It's GONE...
With nothing but MOTW to keep me warm at night. Although SFII is fun on the Master System......

So it's a draw! One keeps whoring out there best games, one has Pokemon.......

I like Nintendo more than i like Sega(Sega is my 2nd love and Nintendo is 1st), no lie. However Sega has alot of different kind of games that appeal to Sega fans and a more hardcore genre specific fans and not just one market. Nintendo has alot of different genres of games too but they are more family oriented and they usually on a majority appeal to Nintendo fans and not genre specific fans as much. Here is a small example of what i'm trying to say.

Fighting

Nintendo - Smash Bros: Not many hardcore fighting fans are gonna look at it and say "i gotta play this game" except for me cuz i love it to death. Mostly only Nintendo fans are gonna be all over this game.

Sega - Virtua Fighter: very many hardcore players worldwide and not just hardcore Sega Fans are gonna like it.

I'd say Nintendo is in its own little world while Sega is all over everything looking at whats going on and improvising from there. I love Nintendo a tiny bit more cuz it gives me a special feeling but i give my props to Sega cuz they are good at what they do.

I like them both, but I like Sega more. I had way more fun with my Genesis than I did with my NES, same with my Dreamcast over my N64. In no way do I regret owning my NES or N64 though, I like them a great deal too. I got my GameCube for Nintendo games, but it seems that I will have to get a PS2 and an Xbox to get my Sega fix from now on.

Nintendo!

...it's for breakfast now!

I've always enjoyed Nintendo games a lot. Sega games are great too, but Nintendo just does it for me better than Sega can. It didn't help that Sega has let me down more than once. They dropped their Sega CD and 32X too fast and I was one of the few that supported it (which back then was huge since I was still living off of my parents money and to get a game system was a major event). Also, the US Saturn was a let down. Then US gamers don't get Shenmue II... is that ever coming out over here????

Anyway, Nintendo at least has never let me down like that. Sure they have vapor-ware from time to time and make promises that never come true, but at least it doesn't cost me any money. I just wish they'd release more of their games in the states. BTW, if you can find it get Fire Emblem for the GBA. It's an awesome strategy RPG that will probably never be released in the US.

Both companies have let me down a few times, game gear, virtual boy, re-release of the nes, snes and genesis, 32x, ruining the snes playstation addon, the sega cd, nomad, just to name a few things.

both are good though, not the best.

Sega is definitely the winner. They have had the most innovative games and tons of awesome arcade games through the years. Nintendo has had a few good games but they mostly just rehash the same stuff over and over.

...it's a cereal; WOW!

I must say, however, that SEGA has been number one with me for years. I had a Master System when NESitus was sweeping towns across the nation. No one in my classes even knew what Sega was. Random loser: "How many Nintendo games do you have?" Me: "None. I've got a SEGA." Loser: "A what?!" It was the marketing.

My uncle had a master system, the hunting game on there was 100% better than duck hunt.
