This is the third of fourth time through the game, but wow. PS4 is so damn good. Right now, I've got my 12 year old cousin playing it for the first time as well. We started at the same time, but I beat him way ahead of time (I have played it a lot). He loves the game, but was getting killed by one end boss too much... I won't say who as to not ruin the story.

If you like the old style 16 bit RPGs, and loved Final Fantasy but have never played this. Give it a try. It's a bit different, but just as good. One of my all-time favorite RPGs ever. Great game!

I second this statement. If you haven't played this yet, do it. :)

Phantasy Star IV is easily one of my fav rpgs.

I remember Sega charging $100 for the game when it was first released.... I bought it for $20 a few years later, haha.

Yep, I remember it going for $99.99 too. It was worth it then, by what I think of it now. I didn't play PS4 until about 97 (came out in 94 in the US, I think), but when I did, I knew it was something else. Still a great game.

Yeah, if you like anime, you'll enjoy this too, for all the cut scenes have a very big anime feel.

I can think of a lot of 16-Bit RPGs I liked better, but it's definately worth the cost of admission. One of many reasons the Nomad remains the best handheld on the market... well, except for the 10 minute battery life. ;)

Out of curiousity, do the Saturn remakes have arranged music, or the same stuff?

I'll kill you! KILL YOU DEAD!

Whadaya mean better? Like which ones? I can say that I feel FF4 is better. I think Earthbound MAY be better. Shining Force 2 is up there. So, which do you feel are better? I think PS4 is one of THE best.

Spike :

PS4 is simply the best. The storyline is very solid, very inteligent. Not like Final fantasy Games, wich their storylines becomes completly confused.

At least, PS4 is certainly the best SEGA RPG ever.
I'll have to play Shining Wisdom, People tells me that it is a good one, Zelda 16-bit-like. Is it true ?

If you kill me, I'll have my family cancel the money transfer. ;)

I'd say FF4, 6, Secret of Mana, Lufia 2, Chrono Trigger, Earthbound... eh, a lot of 'em actually.

It's one of those games that I enjoyed, but never had any strong emotional attachment to. I'd imagine at least part of the reason is that I played it over a longer period of time on my Nomad.

No, Shining Wisdom is terrible. OK, not terrible, but not good. Even Working Designs (who translated it and released it in the US) has publicly admitted that it wasn't very good.

Shining Wisdom is a VERY cheap Zelda clone. When I say cheap, I mean shoddy.

PS4 was really good. I remember it was also challenging, something I look for in any game. FF4 I like better but that's just cause it was the first 16 bit game I played probably. It's still an awesome game... Although I think I prefer the PS version cause of the better translation.

Thanks for the Shining Wisdom info.

Up to date, the biggest clone ( or copy , as you want ) of Zelda was Ragnacenty ( or Soleil, or Crusaders of Centy ) for the Mega Drive.

About PS4, I still haven't found a style of RPG take brings me more fun than this title. Not Even Shining force 2. I have played a very short time in Shining Force III, so I can't say if it's better than PS4 to me.

Phantasy Star 4 is still my fav RPG. It haves great graphics, a SUPERB storyline ( maybe the best of an RPG ), the soundtracks is simply a masterpiece. What else can we expect more of this title ? :D
