It's cool. I couldn't find mine for about a year now, so I figured it was time to get another one.

Anyone else pick up one?

Sorry, lame topic, but I'm bored god damn it!

Same as the other ones, $69.95 (at Gamestop, yeah I don't like 'em either but they had it in stock, no one else did).

I was gonna get a new GBA anyways, I can't wait for Pinball of The Dead, and I saw they had them in stock and I couldn't pass it up.

Picked up a copy of SSFIITR while I was at it, normally I only get the Japanese version because the mixed up character names bothers the hell out of me, but I told myself to get off my high horse and buy the stupid game.

Incidentally it's really cool, a great throwback.

I bought my NGPC Platinum so no one would confuse it with the GB.....

BTW Blaine, you are my NG.com hero: a fellow Pittsburgh denizen who responds to the majority of my posts, and likes Dawn of the Dead!

Blaine,

What sucks about the US version of SSF2TR is that some of the win quotes mixed up...I think Guile says "Handsome fighters never lose battles." Very creepy!

So does the Platinum GBA have a metal outer shell as opposed to the traditional plastic GBAs? How sturdy is it, more or less flimsy than the original GBAs?

I heard the Platinum NGPC is more flimsy than the other colors, is this true?

Since I don't think I can wait until Nintendo gets off their ass and releases a back lit GBA I will have to make a color decision soon. I was going to go with White, but if the Platinum doesn't feel cheap I'll go with that.

Just to let ya know Blaine, in this case it was a bad idea to get the US version.

Capcom USA managed to put a whole slew of bugs in that wonderful little game, the first of which I found my first night playing it.

Win all your battles w/o having to continue, and once you defeat Sagat, you would normally fight Akuma. No sir.

You instead will see a blurred pic of Akuma and the GBA will freeze on this screen. This bug leads to several other problems w/ score keeping and records you have set.

Sucks that the game has those stupid bugs... they're a list of all the bugs over on gamefaqs if you care to check it out.

Regardless, a great and very fun port. I still recommend it, although I'm happy I waited to pay $19.99 for it and not that insane initial asking of $39.99.
