Hey folks. I'll be traveling thru America for a long time and I need to transfer and convert my Canadian bucks into an American account so I can avoid service fees for withdrawing and spending. Does anybody here know of a good bank to put my money in? I need a place that is spread out a lot nationally so I can get help if need be from state to state. Who's got some advice? Thanks a lot! BTW, I'm leaving on June 30th.

man, that depends on where you're moving from.

Bank of America has a lot of locations all over the country. It's in California, Washington DC, Pennsylvania, Florida, and about 20 other states in the continental US.

Other places, like Citibank, might be located in places you are going where BoA is not. You could research this by going to their websites I guess, or calling their 1-800 numbers...

Ah man. I don't wanna research! I just want quick answers! Anyway, thank you for the advice. I am moving from Ottawa Ontario, but I'm kinda gonna be on the road a lot. I'm hitch hiking see...I plan to see as much of America as possible, and that's why I need a bank that can service me from state to state. I'm hoping to find cyber cafes and check up on the forums for local advice whenever I can!

Bwahahaha.

Nobody picks up hitchers anymore.

Too many carjackings and whatnot.

I know a guy who (even at a year younger than I) went from mexico to Massachusettes hitch hiking and homeless. He was near genius though, and I think he's in an engineering masters at Harvard now.

This doesn't really relate, but the got smoked up a lot. I guess you can pull it off too.
