Here in NJ we got 9" of snow, and I had work today. Unfortunately my company NEVER closes unless the entire state gov't orders a shut down, and even then we don't get the go-ahead to leave till an hour after that!

Anyway I had to make it in this morning and as I did I kinda connected with my truck. Its a 2001 2 door GMC Jimmy. Sure its nothing fancy, but its my baby. I got her after some bitch hit me in a head on collision with her truck and totaled me and my kick ass Neon (95 Sport, the little fucker kicked ass, may it rest in peace).

Anyway I had a full stereo in my Neon that I was able to salvage the Sub and the Amp after the accident, and I finnally got around to installing it all in the truck. So I've been feeling extremely happy when I drive, must like I used to when I first bought my Neon way back in High School (yes it was MY car that I worked for since I was 15).

Anyway, I connected with my truck today. The roads must have been plowed in the early morning because there was at least a good 4-5 inches on even the main roads as I went to work, all slushied up from the traffic. Well I put my baby in 4WD and was able to cruise on through it to work like it was a Sunday drive, and the whole time I had Ramstien pounding in my stereo. I was so happy when I got to work that I didn't want to get out of the truck.

It finnally feels like my truck now, I still remember when I "connected" with my Neon. I had to get from one campus to the other (a good 30-40 minute drive with traffic) and I had about 10 minutes to do it in or get locked out of the lab I needed to take. I floored that son of a bitch and was weaving in and out of traffic like it was nothing (thank god the cops were at Wawa or something). It was pretty much the same feeling back then that I had now, although now its for very different reasons.

I donno why I typed it but on my drive home from work I was just like "I LOVE MY DAMN TRUCK!!"

Peace

We've already gotten 13" here, and it's still coming down at a steady rate.

Good thing I've got my rust colored Pinto to help me slip and slide across all the nicely packed snow and ice.

You think you know traction?

You don't know shit!

But yes, I love my '99 Dodge Quad Cab 4x4.

4WD trucks rock the road when it comes to bad weather. We got 8" of snow here in Virginia and we have an old 1978 4WD Ford that we use when bad weather hits. It's like ice and snow don't even matter once your in it.

It's nice to have a truck around as a second vehicle.

The winter here has been very disappointing when it comes to sheer snowfall, the last large storm we had was about a week ago, otherwise the southeast U.S. is getting all of the snow we should be getting.

I have a Jeep for the rough stuff, and it's unstoppable in 4WD, it's almost not fair to mother nature.
